RIP Paul Lagoda - Celebrating the Life of
« on: February 19, 2026, 09:43:56 PM »
Paul passed away two weeks ago.... Mika (his wife) posted it up on their instagram page.

From Metroflex Gym Oceanside:

Next Friday, we gather not for a rep, but for a brother. We’re holding a candlelight vigil for our beloved Paul, the one and only Mr. California here at Metroflex Oceanside. We’ll meet at the gym at 4:45 PM and walk together as one family toward the shore to watch the sun go down, sending our love, our prayers, and our energy straight to the sky. Memorial shirts will be available for purchase at the gym during the event. Come help us honor the man who taught us how to believe in ourselves.

2025 NPC California State Championships Men’s Bodybuilding Overall Champion. He was also part owner of Metroflex Gym Oceanside.

Here is what he wrote when he won the championship last year (about 38 weeks ago)

"Last night, I became 2025 Mr. California. This title wasn’t won overnight. It was a battle that’s taken me FIVE years to conquer. In 2020 I placed 4th in my first Mr. California. That was a wake-up call, I realized this level of competition demanded more. So we took a year off and came back bigger. The following year I took 3rd. The guy who placed 2nd went on to qualify for the Olympia, and the 1st place winner became Mr. USA. In 2024 we leveled up again and won the heavyweight class. I then missed the overall title in a hard-fought battle against my friend Russell the super heavyweight that year. So we went back to work. Grew. Refined. Focused.
Last night, I finally closed the chapter. Came in with the smallest waist, the best shape, the densest back, and those striated glutes, cement factory certified  To anyone out there chasing a goal. Don’t quit. The road is never straight. The work will test you. But victory always tastes better when it took everything you had to earn it. Thank you to everyone that came out , all the friends and family.  I will make a separate post for you and most importantly my Beautiful wife @coach_mikaifbb  My real trophy 🏆 I owe the world to you. Thank you to @musclecontest for an amazing show. Coach and mentor AJ Sims @cementfactory ( I have been in a apprenticeship/ mentorship with AJ for the past few months sharpening my own coaching skills, super excited to share more about that soon)"
