Kudos to Scheinbaum who maintains high favorability with the Mexican people. From a tourism perspective, it may be hard on Puerto Vallarta on an immediate basis, but long term save it (and other areas) from the fate of cities like Acapulco and Mazatlan which were once booming with overseas tourism but now mainly just get Mexicans who know how to cope with the risks.
Plus strengthen the will of the everyday local police forces to not fall into the hands of the cartels so readily.
