Trump implementing a green energy strategy, more like underwriting the US petrodollar by taking out Venezuela and Iran two countries who traded oil with China in Yuan. He can't actually lose here if he takes out Iran and they take out the gulf refinery capacity all he does is raise the value of the existing oil that can be refined, sure he won't get reelected as that will drive inflation so high even his base will desert him.
But knowing him he's already bought enough shares in companies that will profit to offset the dent to his ego. Putin will also win big here and it will be the end of Ukraine as his oil profits fund weapons and Europe or NATO minus the US can't keep up financially as their clinging like you to their green energy future. Can't wait to see Green solar panes stuck on the side of a missile. Accurate as other missiles on days where there's no clouds. 
My other question for you is this if US debt is basically underwritten by the US Petrodollar and the debt is unsustainable without it, how does retiring your balance sheet or security asset help you. Genuine question you sound like you work in markets or close to them. Im being respectful im just another dumb pleb not on board with the green futures as I can't see how it works practically and believe climate change to be driven by many things not just man made carbon.
You are on the right track but missing the much more important, bigger picture of what is happening right now.
The Petro dollar is only somewhat threatened by Iran stopping the flow of oil to the rest of the world, it's the fact that Iran attacked and continues to attack the GCC that is going to destroy us economically.
For decades the gcc and nato have spent very little on defense relative to their GPD as the United States Navy has provided security for global shipping and we have enjoyed a global perception of absolute military domination that no one has challenged.
China, North Korea and Russia have kept their distance and have not challenged us based on this fear that if they do the mighty us military will crush them instantly as they would not stand a chance against us. This is the biggest reason why the rest of the world allows us to print dollars to our hearts content without our currency becoming worthless as it is not backed by gold or anything of real value. We have used military hegemony to back our currency essentially. And the world was fine with the arrangement
The GCC, Japan, South Korea and nato are realizing we can't protect them and this is going to force them to invest heavily in military procurement. The GCC will have to as well, and will no longer sell oil only in dollars but whatever currency a buyer has to offer. If ever China wanted a sign that they could take Taiwan, they have it now. Russia now knows they can reclaim the Baltic states and whatever else in eastern Europe they really want and we can't stop them.
I cannot explain the situation more clearly than that. We as a nation are going bankrupt and our economy is dead already. It will take generations to pay off 38 trillion in debt. Think about what I just said and look 5-10-15 years into the future. It's very bad. Extremely bad.
Israel is in total control here, their guy is already in place in Iran as khomenis gay son is their new ayatollah. When the time is right, he will come into public view and declare peace with Israel.

Soon enough we will retreat, pull our troops from the middle east, and I'm telling you now watch and see all our military assets overseas will go to Israel and then and only then Iran and Israel will make peace and essentially Israel will be the new USA/hegemony.
We, our children, our children's children, will be essentially slaves slowly paying off 38 trillion worth of debt. We are going to lose everything because unlike our founding fathers we stand by and allow tyranny to flourish. We should have already stormed Washington and put trump on trial for treason and lynched him in public. Instead we are allowing Israel to destroy us, the world will never forget and how we remember our country is going to be a fading memory soon enough.
That is reality.
