I don't know what is said in these negotiations, that is, passing of notes to the Pakistanis, but if Mohammed Marandi is to be believed there are so many red lines which Iran has that it's impossible for Trump to agree. Israel has to stop the war against Lebanon, the Straits will be controlled by Iran and Oman, it will never return to pre-war conditions, no negotiations about the nuclear without unfreezing of half of Iran's assets up front, and so on. I think both sides right now are waiting each other out, who can take the economic pain the longest. Besides, a Memorandum of Understanding is not binding, so how much would it be worth anyway?
