I don’t know how he doesn’t see this, that they’ve cried wolf so many times and he continues to get fooled. Eventually his ego is going to take over and he’ll do something stupid like a full on invasion.
I’ve now seen discussions about seizing Kharg Island. This would be far worse than the bombings we’re already conducting from the gulf states. The island would become a sitting duck. It would be a prime target for constant Iranian missile and drone attacks, with their forces taking potshots from the mainland just a short distance away. It would lock us into the same forever war we’ve been fighting in the middle east, with no real strategic upside, only a hollow way to say "we won something."
