I guess if this remains in place, the liberals will go back to the Espstein files.

Now the deal won't be signed until Friday.  Pretty sure when I land in Japan and check, it will have been moved to another day.

Something will happen between now and the execution of the deal that will get this thing fired up again. Most likely because Israel will bomb Lebanon or something.

If Iran gains control of the strait after this, then it is a loss for the US. I don’t care how much uranium enrichment they say they’ll give up. They didn’t have control prior to 2/28.

Spent billions on the war just to end up with a worse deal then they had because his ego couldn't stand Obama getting credit for anything.

Most unpopular president in history and clearly the dumbest.

Well done!

Both sides have declared total victory. Of course. We aren't even allowed to see an authorized full text of the deal so both sides can lie or twist things to their advantage. It of course pisses me off that all the Israeli firsters say you can't ever trust the Iranians and they will renege on any deal; conveniently forgetting the US attacked Iran twice in the middle of negotiations. No one Trusts the US. Not Russia, not China, not anyone. Trump tried to freaking kill Putin in the middle of negotiations too (the Valdai drone attack was orchestrated by the CIA; there's also a claim, which I can't verify, that Trump was on the phone with Putin at the time so his location could be tracked).

The JCPOA that Obama's team negotiated was reportedly 150 pages whereas this MOU is reportedly only a page and a half, which obviously means there's tons of ambiguity about the details. Also reportedly promises were made on the side that couldn't be put into print for political reasons. Both sides have to sell this to their respective constituents as victories.

IMO the main reason for this ceasefire (which it is and not a peace agreements at all) is that Trump has been briefed by the oil execs about the critical situation they are in; got to get some oil moving pronto. Though other experts say that it will take many months for traffic to resume pre-war levels, if ever.

I again point out how the "American" Jew "MAGA" people put Israel first and will abandon Trump the second he doesn't support Israel and Bibi 100%. Lindsey Graham "congratulates" the president and casts aspersions against the VP in a passive aggressive way:

Iran gets billions up front plus 300 billions later in reconstruction etc. They will of course frame it like this, from the article, JD says: "That’s the sort of thing they could have access to, funded by the Gulf coast coalition, so long as they honor their end of the obligation." Meaning "it's not us who gives them the money, it's Qatar!" and so on. But Obama also gave them their own money which was unfrozen, same thing.

But like I said, IMO this is just a temporary ceasefire to get some oil on the market. A million things can and will go wrong along the way. Even if Trump is acting in good faith, the Israeli masters will destroy any deal.

Like I always say, Trump at least provides daily humor, I can't entirely dislike him :D

More passive aggressiveness from the new MAGA implying Trump is doing the wrong thing. I don't think she has to worry. US strategy towards Iran was elucidated in for example this policy paper back in 2009 and Trump is enacting it. US policy aiming for world primacy transcends presidencies.

I don't care if it's a "bad deal," if Iran gets billions in frozen funds, or if they control the strait. If it means we are finally out of there, it’s a win for American citizens and taxpayers.

And the entire world has to be dragged into this stupid bullshit and pay the price because the US got duped by Israel.

Hahahaha.  Iran is now saying that contrary to Trumpy's claims, the Strait is not open free of tolls.

How much are we going to pay them?   :D :D :D :D   And they keep their nuclear dust?   :D :D :D :D

Can't wait to see how much worse than Obama's agreement this will be.  A complete humiliation of the called "deal maker".

I actually don't care if Iran gets to charge tolls after this deal. It doesn't hurt me personally, and it doesn't really hurt the US either. Thanks to fracking, we're now a net exporter of oil, and we don't rely on that strait for our own shipments. The tolls will mostly be paid by Europe and China, since they're the big buyers. If anything, this ends up hurting Israel, Iran's main enemy, and probably Iran's Arab adversaries too. Overall, it feels like a pretty neutral concession for the US if you look at it without emotion.

Naw we getting fleeced even more.  This is now being reported :

---
JD Vance went on CBS News and tried to spin Donald Trump's Iran deal. Instead, he CONFIRMED exactly how badly Trump got fleeced.
CBS correspondent Ed O'Keefe asked Vance point-blank whether Iran would have access to a $300 BILLION reconstruction fund. Vance's answer? Essentially yes — "funded by the Gulf Coast coalition so long as they honor their end of the obligation."

So let's do the math that the Trump administration desperately doesn't want you to do. Let's compare Trump's Iran deal to the one Republicans spent a DECADE calling the worst deal in American history — Barack Obama's.

OBAMA'S IRAN DEAL:
• $1.7 billion in unfrozen Iranian assets
• In exchange for a 98% reduction in Iran's uranium stockpile
• And strict limits capping enrichment at 3.7%

TRUMP'S IRAN DEAL:
• $24 BILLION in unfrozen assets and cash
• A $300 BILLION reconstruction fund
• Lifted sanctions
• In exchange for an "opened Strait" under Iran and Oman's control

Read those numbers again. Trump is handing Iran roughly FOURTEEN TIMES the unfrozen cash Obama did — plus a $300 billion reconstruction windfall — after starting a war that nobody wanted, spiking gas prices, and killing the existing ceasefire because he found negotiations "boring." AND the deal just kicks what happens with Iran's uranium stockpile to future negotiations!

Republicans screamed for YEARS that Obama "gave Iran billions" and "appeased the mullahs." They called his deal treasonous. They tore it up. And now their guy is giving Iran an order of magnitude MORE money for a far weaker arrangement.

But here's the part Vance accidentally revealed. He warned that Iranian hardliners would "over-emphasize the benefits that Iran gets while under-emphasizing all the things they have to concede."

That's PROJECTION. Because it's the TRUMP administration that's been over-emphasizing the "wins" while burying the $24 billion, the $300 billion fund, the lifted sanctions, and the fact that the strategic Strait would fall under Iranian and Omani control. Vance is accusing Iran of doing EXACTLY what his own administration is doing — hiding the real terms of the deal from the public.

The man who promised to be tougher than Obama on Iran just handed Tehran the biggest payday in its history — after dragging America into a war first.  $1.7 billion versus $324 billion. That's the difference between Obama's "terrible" deal and Trump's "great" one.
