There were periods during Sergio, Arnold, Haney, Yates and Ronnie when they were just head and shoulders above everyone else and if they came in in basically decent shape with no injury it was always a battle for 2nd.   The magazines tried to hype things up, but come contest day everyone knew this.

I saw Haney/Gaspari at their peaks in late 80s in Columbus, Gaspari was amazing, but Haney was easily the winner.

I 100% agree with you and I wasn't a fan of his physique and I'm not a fan of him post bodybuilding. But that doesn't take away anything from his physique especially 1993.

He seemed to have this pattern: Win decisively; squeak by; lose!

2006 (Win decisively), 2007 (Squeak by), 2008 (Lose), 2009 (Win decisively), 2010 (Squeak by), 2011 (Lose).

I beg to differ. Jackson, Heath (his first three years), Rhoden, and Curry looked great.
