He never got that big. Listed contest weight was, what, 200 pounds? Maybe 220 or 230 pounds in the off season?
The guys who have been dropping dead spend most of the year walking around at 280-300+. Look at the picture of Dauda in the other thread -- he's 300 pounds ez, and maybe much heavier.
I think it goes to show that carrying around 300 pounds of muscle is just as bad for your body as carrying around 300 pounds of fat, but that staying around 220-230 pounds can be okay even in the very long term.
A lot of guys who used to get huge in the off-season, like Gunter Schlierkamp and Mustafa Mohammad, had health scares and had to drop all of the weight fast, and now they look like they never trained. This is analogous to obese people who have health issues and are forced to drop a lot of weight.
