  I think it was 8 th or 9 th grade. his father was a coach and really pushed him. His brother was more suited to the game and played 3 years at Pitt. he was recruited by former nfl coach dave wannstedt at pitt.

I've seen parent have aspirations of where their kids will fit in college and hold back a grade.....also, bridge years, prep years after HS, etc.....

Now, so many completely overestimate where their kids will land, but what I'm saying is what you posted doesn't surprise me.
