Trump's Health
« on: Today at 01:32:58 PM »
In the past 12 months, Donald Trump has undergone three cognitive tests (which he says he has "aced". These tests are primarily used to detect early signs of cognitive decline or dementia.

Is it customary for someone to be checked every six months for cognitive decline or dementia? Most doctors test brain function if the patient shows clear warning signs, or if memory problems disrupt daily life. Less than 20% of older adults get regular cognitive check-ups. Medicare requires doctors to observe and detect signs of cognitive decline during yearly wellness visits.

Last October 2025, during a preventative executive physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Trump underwent imaging for his heart and abdomen. MRIs are also used to detect brain shrinkage which are associated with cell death from neurodegenerative diseases. Shrinking in the hippocampus suggests Alzheimer’s disease. Shrinkage in the frontal and temporal lobes suggest frontotemporal dementia.

MRIs are also used to diagnose acute ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes. Strokes can cause dementia. Specifically, vascular dementia (or vascular cognitive impairment). These conditions are the second most common type of dementia after Alzheimer's disease.

Consider this; Are Trump's frequent MoCA's and MRIs tests being employed to detect and discount cognitive decline/dementia or to monitor an existing condition?

Just so you know, I am neither suggesting anything about nor attempting to diagnose Trump’s cognitive health. This would be ludicrous since I am not in any way qualified to draw such a conclusion.

Your response is not surprising to me at all. In fact, it is exactly what I expected you would say.

However, I believe you are mistaken. In fact, I did comment about Biden's disastrous career ending debate. Please feel free to repost anything I said suggesting Biden's mind was sound.

I am not evaluating Trump’s cognitive health; I am simply citing known facts about his cognitive health checkups. If you believe anything I wrote is inaccurate, please fact-check it and share your findings on Getbig.

Please note that nowhere in my post did I say I thought Trump is suffering cognitive decline nor cite any examples of this. Not that there isn't plenty of speculation about Trump's health, including cognitive, psychological and physical, because there is.

We should have an age limit for presidents. At nearly 80, Trump is performing at or above average for his age. The variability at that stage of life is enormous. Some octogenarians are frail, reliant on walkers, and struggle to form coherent sentences. Trump is clearly operating well above that level. He's also demonstrably sharper than Biden was in his final years. That said, some cognitive and physical decline is simply inevitable at that age.

You are correct it appears that Trump is less frail and seemingly mentally sharper than some 80-year-olds. Everyone has good days and not so good ones. Both Biden and Trump sometimes stumble.

Often the media calls Trump out for dosing off during meetings. If he is up most of the night posting on Truth Social, he likely suffers from insomnia unless he is a late sleeper like me. Folks with insomnia are known to dose off during the day. If I don't get enough sleep, this sometimes happens to me, especially if I am watching a show that is not particularly interesting on television. Today, I read an article suggesting we might need less than eight hours sleep, but for most of us not a lot less. Less than six hours of sleep a night may be problematic.

I don’t know about Trump, but I cannot sleep on a plane. Thirteen hours plus flights overseas are exhausting for me. I usually need a day of recovery.

It is worth mentioning that in our 80s, the body’s main balance systems naturally slow down. Our eyes are slower to adjust to changes in light and depth. The nerves in our legs and feet send transmit messages to the brain less quickly. A gradual loss of balance over years is normal with age and fear of falling increases.

All in all, I think old age sucks. And it sucks worse for some of us than others. Being constantly in the spotlight and under scrutiny would make these signs of aging more obvious and thus feel worse.

Why would anyone 'sit this out?' What a totally unrealistic thing to suggest. You can sit it out if you want and then be sure to let us know how you did that. Oh wait, you didn't manage it when Biden was President.

It seems to me the right is who has the bigger problem with illegal immigrants. We on the left have issues with the injustice going on.

How many immigrants have I let into the U.S.?

It is accurate to say that your entire being revolves around illegal immigrants.

The vast majority of them.

This is a stupid statement but considering the source, it is to be expected.

Hmmm, for some reason when you use the terms your or you, as you have done many times, you are targeting me personally or at the least making assumptions about me solely because I am a Democrat/liberal. Not all liberals are created equal or do they think alike, any more than do conservative people.

When you wrote, "talk about stereotyping someone" and calling me a "hypocrite," you are inadvertently admitting to doing this yourself, (which you have done many times).

Going to take a break now because Kaitlan Collins' show is on CNN. You know the newcaster who never smiles, according to Trump. ;)

I find her to be, sharp witted, intelligent, and very attractive, although way too young for me. The way the corners of her mouth curl up look very much like a smile to me.

Well, in this case, it is an attractive woman who appears to be smiling. The man in this scenario, has and almost perpetual frown. While you might not obsess about any of these things, this does not hinder your willingness to comment on them. Are you playing dumb? Sorry, does not work for me.
