I think it is different in each state. Where I am they have to have their own independent lawyer review it and sign it as well. And it should be filed in the court. It can protect anything you want it to, apparently. But of course they can always sue you afterwards if things fall apart (anyone can sue anyone for anything in the US). So you won't know if it works until the bottom falls out of your marriage.

No doubt he also gave his second wife Marla Maples a substantial amount since she still lives rich.

I give their marriage a less than 100% chance of lasting forever.

Thanks. Some probably feel demanding a pre-nup is you already acting in bad faith towards the upcoming marriage

The very wealthy will probably give more than their pre-nups stipulated anyway, if there was one, as it wouldn't be a good look if your spouse was on the street after, or anywhere close to it.
