The following season, as a Dodger, around the All Star break, Freeman spoke to management in Atlanta. I think that Freddie found out that his agent was not sharing all the offers that Atlanta had offered.

I’m not sure if that is what happened, but Freddie Freeman fired his agent within 1 year of landing in Los Angles.

It was always "assumed".

But look at it this was - the story was the starting price pre season was Rice/Schlittler/Lombard from NY.  A top 5 MLB hitter, current CY favorite in the AL, and NY's best prospect.

I know it's now a half season, but it seems many teams, including LA, could have topped that offer.  AbrahamG has to explain this for us.

Skubal was crying during an interview about leaving Detroit… they could have held on until the deadline to see what was offered. They could have kept him and made a playoff run.

But that's not the issue. The cost of Skubal to LA was underwhelming.  They didn't give up their top prospects, or MLB ready talent.

Teams like Milwaukee or any of them could have topped the offer, and there are rumors they did.

Skubal was the biggest difference maker available, and they got a shitty return.
