A serious question for Jay Cutler
« on: May 08, 2006, 11:27:49 AM »
Lets say that Ronnie suffers an injury this year which forces him to retire, or he simply opts to quit for whatever reason. You go to the Olympia and win it, finally getting your overdue Sandow. How would you feel?

Not in the sense of winning the competition, but winning it without Ronnie competing? Do you think you would accept the trophy with as much joy as you would if Ronnie was announced 2nd instead of absent.

Would you be able to accept that from the judges point of view, you just couldnt beat him?

I personally think Jay has a better overall physique than Ronnie, but the judges haven't seen it that way, at least not yet.  Sometimes I wonder where they find these judges, look at them, most don't even look like they've never stepped foot into a gym.

Good question.  Knowing that he knocked off every other BBer during that span, as well as arguably beat COleman in 2001, will probably give him some peace.  No matter what you do, there will always be someone better at it.

Cutler is getting close to the end of his peak.  I hope he can hold it together to win the Olympia at least once.  He is a true credit to the sport, and for a pro bber, he is a model of health.

Maybe you should check out the Mr. O videos to see how wrong you are. Dude, just because Jay posts here doesnt mean you have to kiss his ass big time. While Jay has a great physique and is well respected and all, IMO he is nowhere near Ronnie physically. In fact, I reckon at his best, Jay wouldn't be able to beat Dorian either (at Dorian's best). He more than holds his own with everyone else though 8)

Jay said in his new dvd that he almost doesnt care about winning the Olympia right now. He just wants to beat Coleman. I think if Ronnie retires this year before the O and Jay does win (which he won't - Dex has his number) he won't be completely satisfied

240 - HE CHEATED! How can anyone still argue that Jay won in 2001 when he took diuretics? His conditioning was the best in the show BECUASE HE TOOK DIURETICS. That's the only reason anyone says he had a chance of beating Big Ron. Fact is, Ronnie outmuscled him and utterly RAPED Jay from the back. I respect Jay and appreciate his physique but that doesnt mean he ever beat Coleman or ever will . . .

In his last DVD, Jay said that he was going to start training with heavier weights and much lower reps. Sounds ominous . . .

Dont know about the diuretics issue i.e whether the other competitors used them or not, but agree 100 % about your assesment of Ronnie outmuscling him. Anyone who doubts this should see the 2001 Prejudging video - Ronnie looked unbelievably freaky when he turned around and flexed his back :o Plus, Ronnie tightened up heaps for the night show and in a way, it was just like the 1997 Mr O in that from the front it was fairly close, but once the guys turned to the side and the back, there was no doubting who the clear winner was - Ronnie just blew everyone away, plain and simple ;)

Think so? Hes only 32! Hes a young babay! I dont see any signs of his physique receeding. He trains smart too..

Ronnie is what, 42? Granted hes a freak for staying so youthfull and his musclemass still very healthy and not dwindelling- as we saw Nasser just go down hill.

Obviously it will be sweeter if he wins with ROnnie there..Even with ROnnie not there, Jay would have one every bodybuilding contest with one Mr Olympia win, by age 33. Amazaing imho.

Do you have any specific objections or are you just another jackass without an actual argument of their own?

I'll admit I'm going by what I've seen and what I've read. I'm certainly not privy to any behind the scenes behing closed doors insider information. That's why I come here - because there are people who do. Speaking of Getbig, welcome abaord mate - hopefully our next argument will be a more gentlemanly affair.

1- if he cheated, he shouldn't have been give second.  He shouldn't have placed.  He was either the best man onstage in 2001, or he was disqualified.  Keeping him at second was a strange move.

2- cutler has been on intense levels of gear for about 8 years now.   Coleman's been on for what, 9 or 10?  Jay's side effects show pretty bad already.  I can't imagine what another 8 years on it would do to him.  I hope he retires with his health.

Thats the only sad thing about this. We aspire and dream all our lives to look like them, only to be dissapointed and crushed, after realizing what else we would need to do- and even then, its not gonna happen, it most cases.. But we can be smaller versions, right?  :D Thats why I still admire these guys, and am a huge fan..they can still help us and inspire us to no end..

Those are some serious charges, 240, if by "gear" you mean anabolic steroids. The Mr. Olympia, 'case you haven't heard, is a drug-tested competition. Joe Weider said so.

You're a joke-maker, though, I know, I know ...

The shit you come up with, man.
