MMA Fighter to Fight Chimpanzee

Who would you take?

I can only think of one man who would have a chance.

https://www.dailymail.com/sciencetech/article-16114415/MMA-fighter-chimpanzee-scientists-warning.html

An amateur MMA fighter has shocked the internet by claiming to have been offered more than $500,000 (£370,000) to fight a chimpanzee.

In a string of social media posts, Minnesota–born fighter Cole Johnson alleged that he has organised a fight with a male adult chimpanzee this coming Friday.

However, experts have warned that this supposed match is a disaster waiting to happen.

Although chimpanzees are usually remarkably tolerant of humans, primatologists warn that no amount of fighting skill will save Mr Johnson from 'catastrophic' injury.

Besides the obvious animal cruelty and conservation concerns, it is staggeringly dangerous for a human to deliberately provoke a chimpanzee into attacking.

Dr Kimberley Jane Hockings, Associate Professor in Conservation Science at Exeter University, told the Daily Mail: 'Chimpanzees are wild animals with sophisticated social and behavioural responses, and when they perceive a threat to themselves or other members of their community, they can respond with extraordinary aggression.

'Chimpanzees are extremely powerful animals, with substantially greater upper–body strength and dynamic muscle performance than humans.

'When chimpanzees do attack, the injuries can be catastrophic.'

If this actually happens I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t kill him. Even if they’ve taken the teeth out of the thing, it’s still strong and will shred this dude.

The chimpanzee will supposedly be unsedated and left with its claws and teeth intact, with the fight taking place in a large, grass–based cage.

He's fucked. :D

What a moron! He's going to be killed or is going to be torn to shreds and eaten by the savage beast. An adult chimp is lethal!!!!!! Chimps are also highly sexual! Will the chimp have it's way with the fighter??? An unarmed human has no chance! Are they going to drug the ape? That's the only way he will survive!

Second to monkey strength!!!!!!!

Travis the Chimp was stabbed with a knife and that didn't stop him. He was only stopped by the police when they shot him. After he ripped off the woman's face!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Johnson, can you please explain to the audience how you came to lose your scrotum, penis, ears, hands and feet? We're all ears...

Chimpanzees are inhumanly strong even when not enraged by a Hankins-type trying to throw hands with them:

https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.1086/592023

"Bauman (1923, 1926) showed that adult male and female chimpanzees held long in captivity were much stronger than any of several fit young football players when normalized for body mass. He had the animals (when they felt like it) and the students pull on a calibrated metal loop dynamometer.  The female recorded a two-handed pull of 1,260 pounds, while the male recorded a one-handed pull of 847 pounds.  The strongest student managed a one-handed pull of 210 pounds and a two-handed pull of 491 pounds. When normalized for body mass, this meant that the chimpanzees were more than four times as strong as the men."

World Record Hand Dynamometer Grip Strength Score!

The absolute highest grip strength score ever recorded on a calibrated metal loop hand dynamometer is 175.1 kg (386 lbs), achieved by Belarusian grip athlete Nikita Yurkovets.

He set this staggering world record using the Gripmeter GM150—a highly precise, fully metal digital loop device widely used in elite grip sport to measure raw crushing force.

The Top Elite Leaderboard
The elite tier for raw dynamometer scores is incredibly exclusive. For perspective, the average healthy adult man scores between 35 and 55 kg. Here are the highest verified scores ever recorded under strictly calibrated conditions:

AthleteCountryRecord Score (kg / lbs)Device Used
Nikita YurkovetsBelarus175.1 kg / 386 lbsGripmeter GM150
Sergey LikhutyevRussia164.7 kg / 363 lbsGripmeter GM150
Brian ShawUSA162.4 kg / 358 lbsCalibrated Digital Hand Dyno
Vitaly LaletinRussia159.3 kg / 351 lbsCalibrated Digital Hand Dyno

Why This Record is Significant
  • Unassisted Force: Unlike steel hand grippers (such as the Captains of Crush series), which allow athletes to use their opposite hand to "set" the spring into position before squeezing, a digital loop dynamometer isolates pure crushing force from a resting, open-hand state.
  • The "CoC No. 4" Benchmark: Yurkovets' force of 175.1 kg actually exceeds the approximate closure force required to clamp shut the legendary Captains of Crush No. 4 gripper, a feat only a tiny handful of people in history have officially accomplished.
