Agreed, but that's so simplistic as to be trivial.
however, there are situations in which people are on the bottom rung and the amount of effort required to lift themselves up to even the starting point of someone like Trump is nearly impossible. It's not nearly, it is almost certainly impossible. Who gets gifted money, connections, favors on that type of level? (millions upon millions?) very few.
It doesn't take a crying liberal purple haired weirdo to feel some empathy for those born into situations that are hopeless. You also have capacity, not everyone has the capacity to overcome. So if someone is gifted a great starting position in life with great stats you would have to be a psychopath not to reach down and help up others. If we all did that and the world wasn't run by atavistic unconscious muppets we would all be in a better place.
If you were that person in that hopeless situation wouldn't you want support from those who did not have to struggle? instead we have those who didn't have much struggle hoarding as much as they can because, you guessed it... they didn't have to struggle.
