The Hidden Cost of Convenience: Why Your Junk Food Habit is Bankrupting Your Brain and Your Wallet

I was raised by parents who fed me junk food at an early age. I was bullied a lot for being overweight both in primary school and high school. I had anxiety disorders and depression and was borderline obese at my worst. Junk food was my escape. It was one of the only things that brought me joy and eating rubbish food was the only thing I looked forward to.

After going on my weight loss journey, seeing how much my mental and physical health improved, and just how much better society treats you as a thinner person was a night and day difference. I did however developed an eating disorder I believe to be anorexia, due to fear of relapsing on junk food and regaining all my lost weight.

I read somewhere
The 2-Year Mark: Meta-analyses of clinical diet studies show that patients regain an average of more than half of the weight they lost within two years of completing a weight-loss program.
The 5-Year Mark: Within 3 to 5 years, 80% to 95% of individuals regain nearly all the weight they lost, with a significant portion returning to a higher baseline weight than where they started (yo-yo dieting).
This scares the living hell out of me. I was at such a dark point in life when I was obese so that is something that must be avoided for me at all costs.

-I weigh myself and measure my waist every single day. If I gain even a pound I panic and try compensate by extending my already 2 hour workouts or further cut calories from a highly restrictive diet
-I never go out to social events. I ended up drinking alcohol and overeating on many occasions, so I stopped saying yes to them for nearly a few months now and I plan to stay that way
-I spend heaps of money on pre workouts and drink them to fuel my 2 hour workouts and also to suppress my appetite.
-Despite having a healthy BMI, waist measurement, bodyfat percentage and even doctors telling me to my face everything is all good I still have body dysmorphic disorder and feel fat at times.

The plus side of all this is if I keep this up, I will never regain all my fat and worsened mental health. Anyone in a similar boat
