So in other words most CCW holders are incompetent and dangerous?

Most no, some yes. Even though in this country we have a right to legally own a firearm for protection. My point was that having a CCW doesn't automatically make someone a proficient shooter and should train. Most can shoot gun. In that video I specifically say that some maybe CCW holders.

It looks like it's even dangerous to go to an indoor range.

Another reason I rarely even go to indoor ranges but then again, like Chaos said, that's what the rangemaster is for. I'm also a certified RSO

And that's without factoring in the possible mental immaturity or instability. Now arguing over a parking space makes you draw your weapon.
1. Carrying a firearm is ONLY for defensive purposes in imminent threat situations. Not if someone takes your parking space..lol. 2. CCW holders are some of the most law abiding and responsible people the country

Shooting a gun is the easy part, the hard part is making decisions when you need it. That's why you train. But just because you have the right to carry doesn't mean you should.

Are there any incidents of whack jobs killing people in a gun range?

Donny recently posted a video of a cop who accidentally shot himself while he was teaching a gun safety course.

Some yes. Chris Kyle was murdered on gun range. Suicides, etc.

It's not real dangerous at all. You don't get many accidents at ranges when you consider how many go. You get do get suicides occasionally,, and at rural public ranges you get the occasional murder because criminals know they're good robbery spots if they find someone alone.

What people do do at ranges is screw around a bit, because they're not messing up their own property. You get guys shooting their most powerful stuff that they've only shot one or two times before, or you get them practicing trick shots. The most common serious range injury is someone shooting themselves in the leg when drawing the pistol.

The ceiling shots are usually new shooters or non-shooters (some people go on shooting dates, etc....) that are holding the gun up getting ready to shoot, then get scared by someone shooting in the next booth.

Also I wouldn't consider police better shots either. You'd have to check for Sweden, but here in the States, many police only shoot once or twice a year to pass proficiency exams. Also since most personal shooting are up close (less than 35 feet) one could argue that it is nerves that keep people from being good shots at a certain point. Historically only 10-20% of people were willing to shoot at a human with any type of deadly intent.

I thought that was on the way to the range? Either way, you’d think some whacko could just start shooting people but I guess they don’t because of the deterrent of gun toting people. But, I’d think a suicidal nut could go in there and kill what they’d think were a bunch of “maga type” folks. Surprised there’s not more mass shootings to be honest. The climate today is crazy, politically speaking.

I was kidding a bit there, I didn't think it can be that dangerous or they would have outlawed it.

But regarding who I'd think would be responsible enough to carry a gun around I know many people who I'd rather not see have a gun on them. I don't think there's really such a thing as concealed carry here in Sweden, and off the top of my head I don't know anyone who has guns period. I'm not against guns and if I lived in the U.S. I'm sure I'd have them but "gun rights" doesn't seem like such a black and white issue. For example considering how unhinged many people are, even people with no criminal record, no diagnosed severe mental illness etc. I think it's an interesting subject, what restrictions should there be?

Coach mentioned Chris Kyle. Should the vet who killed him have had the right to own guns? I think he had a PTSD diagnosis. If the mentally ill shouldn't own guns, what constitutes a disqualifying mental illness?

Ironically the most proficient in the use of guns, like special forces, might be dangerous in civilian life. As someone said of a certain SF, put him in a glass case and... "in case of war, break glass"

Theoretical my ass. He was a good guy who took down scum that murdered kids!

He didn’t, a female teacher stopped the shooter by throwing her cell phone at him and tackling him lol.  I understand reading is hard for many of you, but this was literally the first sentence of the news article

About half the people where I live own guns, and almost all of them hunt. I don’t own one myself, but I’ve been to the range and shot skeet. It is fun :)

I think the right to own guns is a good one for people to have. Reasonable restrictions make sense too. The problem is that once the government is in charge of setting those limits, they tend to push past what’s reasonable. They publicly say they only want sensible rules, but I’m a skeptic. The real goal is really gradual confiscation and bans, one restriction at a time.

Good thing that teacher had her .40 on her.

Giamanco pulled into the parking lot, grabbed his .40-caliber pistol and followed the attacker inside. He saw John wrestling with the teacher and shot him several times.

PTSD happens in most In one form or another it's not always from military combat. The guy who killed Chris Lyle never saw any combat. If there are no reported mental issues and a clean record when a 4477 is ran there are no red flags (figure of speech) but if there is a documented history of mental issues (which Kyles killer had) and it goes unreported to the DOJ, that's on whoever diagnosed him for not reporting it.
