Yeah. Back in the day the board would be rushed with posts and comments. Talk of which after parties would have the best E and best oil for bare backing. Everyone has gotten older or gone straight it seems. Casino ice machines don’t have the same allure as back in the day, paper bags in bathroom stalls don’t carry the same glamour either.

What was there to discuss that hasn't been said already? Nick's secret arm workout that helped him win this year? Was it the workout that the pros kept secret?

Should we have discussed the thrilling and nail biting press conference that put us all on the edges of our seats? Should we have discussed the shocking back n forth between Bob and Nick? Did we all wonder if security had to be called? Did a fight almost break out? Should we have focused on the mind boggling amount of rolling backpacks spotted during the press conference?

Should we have discussed the thrilling pose down that the athletes did during the press conference?

Should we have discussed why Martin the Martian didn't freak out this year or assault anyone and have to be tazed by security?

Should we have discussed any wallet swiping sightings from Robby backstage while the competitors posed on stage and their bags were left unattended backstage?

Maybe more discussion on Nick's custom shelf that he was rumored to have built for his Sandow trophy? Or should we have discussed how Daddy Warbucks Nick promised to pay off his parents mortgage and bills?

Should we have discussed the amazing accomplishment of the Olympia feed not short circuiting and going off line this year?

Nick won Friday night then Samson the following night (Saturday) worth of many post threads ....

Some people still post to this day (even on Tik Tok) about how Mike Mentzer was robbed at the 1980 Olympia.

There were a few threads on it, around September 24th or so... I was there, mostly at the expo and lots of meetings, take a look at some of the threads there, by seaching 2026 Olympia

Bodybuilding was best when the internet was young and there was an allure of the unknown.  Everything is now instantly exposed and known.  There are no more secrets and we get 20 minute update videos from every competitor daily in the weeks leading up to the show.  It's just not the same anymore.  The gym sucks, the Olympia sucks....I never thought I'd say this, but it was better when it was all homo and hidden behind the curtains (no homo).

I agree. Bodybuilding faded after Ronnie and Jay retired and we got these fucking lames like ",BIG RAMY" who fucking SUCKED, Phil heath sucked, kai greene sucked, it became a blur to me. All the excitement and interest just died for me. It used to be about hardcore training and hard dieting, then overnight it was SYNTHOL EVERYWHERE. no one trains hard now. They're a bunch of pussies and it's obvious and I/we cannot fake interest anymore.

 The ifbb judges should be lined up and shot one by one for what they've done to our sport. The fuck were they thinking giving oil bags first place at any show let alone pro shows let alone the Olympia???!!!?!  We are not stupid! .

Big internet and gyms being spread out killed a lot of the scene. Personal Instagram pages allow people to stifle criticism, and conversation gets diluted into 1000s of tiny threads on 100s of personal pages instead on one solid quick and readable thread. Forums forced the conversation in a good way.

Also the loss of "Mecca" type gyms killed it also. Now everyone is spread out, you don't get the gossip and back biting you did when you had dozens of competitors being amongst each other day in, day out. Many of these guys probably only see each other 2-3 times a year. Everyone at Gold's is ancient now.
