Serious Question (Oh my!)
« on: May 14, 2006, 12:08:18 PM »
Can Ronnie or Jay or any of the other top guys enter any show they want.  I mean could Ronnie have entered the Colorado Pro if he wanted.  Or after you win the Olympia you canonly do that show.

Ronnie could have gone to Colorado. But he was afraid of the competition from Gary Strydom.

Keith, there is no restriction on which IFBB sanctioned show an IFBB pro athlete can enter...unless the show is an invitational. Ronnie or Jay would be welcome to compete in any IFBB show, for sure.

Ronnie and Jay have nothing to gain financially by entering.

They can enter any show if they want to....remember Ronnie  getting beat by Gunter a few year back at the Show of Strength ( I think that was the contest) and don't forget about the Europe tour after the MR.O.

Ronnie usually does a show or two after the Olympia before hanging up the squat belt for 3-4 months...

These days, it's too hard to be in peak condition more than a month or so a year, so all the top bodybuilders already qualified for the Olympia just compete in the fall shows.

Back in the day, someone like Albert Beckles would compete in 10 IFBB pro shows a year, year in and year out.  Of course it helps to have 10 or more IFBB pro shows a year to compete in.

Ronnie could've competed, but he would've lost to the rookie.

Apparently dropping below 4% bf starts impeding certain body functions, I can't imagine being at such low bf, that's insane.. the lowest I've ever gone is around 7-8% and even that was enough for me.

That's messed up man, I hear from my friends that compete that the soles of your feet hurt like crazy because you're basically walking right on the bone since the water and fat provided padding there.

You're fucking serious, aren't you.  That's one of the most awesome things I've ever heard, and I'm being as serious as you are.

I've been below 5% in my early 20's.  I remember I would periodicly see a haze of white, like after you went swimming for too long with your eyes open.

Not to mention didn't shit but once every 2 days.

Dude I'd say 4.5 to 5 is the lowest I ever got, and it hurt like a bitch.
