True. The labels (RIAA) should have EMBRACED the web, and made just about any cd available for download for $8.

We never would have heard of napster or morpheus- there wouldn't have been a market. College kids can afford $8 for a complete $18 CD instantly.

However, greed and control will cause many to plow ahead with blinders on as the world changes around them.

Right now, for example, the Colorado Pro Show should be available for Download on Demand at $9.95-19.95 for all those who missed it.

I still sell more DVDs than downloadables, but believe me, the Download on Demand stuff is catching up fast.

by 2016 there will be no more bodybuilding/fitness supp stores (that include gnc stores). everything will be bought online.

By the end of two thousand and sick, there will be no more bodybuilding-fitness supply stores because of dangerous new laws that will prevent people from buying supplements because of the anti-steroid act

im talkin about any type of supp including protien powders, drinks, vitamins and such. no more stores for that stuff in 10 years beside what you find in walmart and such.

no one will forget about anything gh15 says especially when it's backed up with solid evidence. for now i take it easy with the board because i respect ron but there will be a place and time you will know a whole lot about the sport of bodybuilding.

In 10 years, if you want to buy supplements, you're going to have to do it online or at a superwalmart.

Imagine the advances made in shipping and deliver in the next 10 years, with technology improving and the population growing, which justifies growing the infrastructure greatly in a limited space.

In 10 years, you'll be able to order creatine from BBing.com after breakfast, and it'll be at your house before you get home from work.

Hmmm. 7-10 years ago, that is exactly what they were savings. People were paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for domain names, promising the world, predicting than within a few years, there will be no more stores. Well, it didn't happen. While the internet is definately evolving and becoming a part of our lives, some people still prefer to go to stores. Even to buy books, music and DVD's. In 10 years from now, there will be a mixture of both...

i agree there will still be stores- but i think that the big stores like superwalmart will continue to grow offerings and lower prices until it's just not cost effective for GNC to rent the building.

I love to shop in person, always will. But with the position that Walmart and others possess, the others are going to suffer in the future. If walmart has a 1% advantage today, it'll be a 2% advantage the next year, and in another 20 years, it is going to be hard to open anything in the low-cost area (where most people shop) without getting killed by WMT.

I disagree, and yes while some nutrition chanis may go belly up, I sincerely doubt most of them will. Why? The dotcom boom and then bust of recent years proved that most business models need the "bricks and morter" type of infrastructure to be a permanent success.
Cyber sites don't build many permanent assets on the balance sheet. Of course we have some exceptions.

Before the internet, you couldn't get the final placings, nevermind the competitors list till at least a month after the event. That was the biggies nevermind the small shows. To me that is the best thing the internet did for bodybuilding. It cut the supplement bussines bigtime, that I can attest to. People can get stuff cheaper than some of the wholesale prices I pay. That sucks, but like someone said brick and mortar is what the masses want, not must a . com and faceless company. All in all their's nothing you can do to fight progress. You join or die. Simple.
