Has anyone on this board ever met Vince in person? Just curious to know. Sometimes people on here behave much differently than they would in person. I guess no matter how much time goes by, I can't believe how aggressive he is towards pros and anyone else that "calls him out". I also can't believe he posts pics like that and then tells stories like he does to "explain them"

By the way a 17 pound carb up is humanly impossible unless you weigh about 1000 lbs or so.

You can tell a lot from a person on the phone.  Anyone heard the Vince answering machine/meltd0wn tapes? Whew....

Seriously though, has ANYONE on the board ever met the guy? I mean I know guys at my gym that know him by name and think he is an absolute fool for what he does here. Getbig is more popular than one might think. I was just wondering how it is, (if he is like this in person of course) this man gets through life daily without pissing someone off to the point of homicide.

I work with a lot of ppl from the boards.  I get on the phone with Ron and I'm not the 240 prick persona, I'm asking him for parenting advice. I get on the phone with other guys and I'm picking their brains for investment advice and they're asking me about the SW FL real estate market.  It's pretty easy to turn off your internet persona - your escape from everyday work - and get down to business.  Anyone who has worked with me will probably attest to this- nothing like 240 on the phone or in person.

However, I don't think Vince has that ability.  I think the illusions of competition grandeur extend to real life.  When he talked about how many tanning applications he did before his show, or how hard his diet was, etc.  Or the monthly scams (i'm quitting my job and selling my company and I work for the Cardinals and I bring gospel from the IFBB and blah blah...)  Vince in dead serious, and believes this stuff.  I'm thinking that is Vince in real life, too.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. If you are correct, I have to admire a man that can get this far behaving like that. It would seem his life expectancy in public would have to be about 15 minutes behaving the way he does. ;D

I'd say his best chance is probably the Mountaineer... It's lost some of it's steam since the Metrolina became a qualifier... I don't know what a fair wager could be because there is no telling how many competitors are going to be in a certain class. Novice or Junior are also going to be the safest route. If he goes open it's just gonna be ugly. Sorry Vince, nothing personal but giving my opinion on your physique from what I have seen it's really quite atrocious (sp). I've been to literally 100's of shows, regional, state, Pro Qualifiers and IFBB shows and you really strike me as one of the many guys that show up and the audience just wonders what the hell was this guy thinking. From the pics of you dieted down I didn't see any muscle at all. I mean, literally, none. I have no idea what your diet or training regimen is but it's obviously not working. When it comes to bodybuiliding Vince the proof is in the pudding. You can't hide behind anything. Your body speaks for itself and you really need to go back to the drawing board and concentrate on building muscle before you attempt to diet down for a show.

Thanks for your advice and you are correct......in 2004 which is what you are basing your assessment on.  At the time, I still was coming into my physique which is why I took an extra year off to build more muscle mass.  The january picture isn't great but I wanted to show everyone how much size I put on arms which are actually my weak parts due to my quads and calves being much larger.

As far as whether it will be junior or open depends.  If there isn't that many people in the junior division, I'll move to open.  When I compete, I want to COMPETE, not get handed a trophy for showing up.  But we'll see what happens.  I will say that the person that will show up will not be the person in those infamous pictures.  I'm going get the dues paid

Vince does his labor pool jobs, in which he is surrounded by the unskilled, ex-cons and mentally handicapped people, and possibly illegals.  Not flaming, but this is the truth about Labor Pool/Manpower.   At this job, ppl probably buy that Vince is a Bber and nutritional guru.

Vince sells supplements at flea markets on weekends.  If ppl think he's crazy, they can walk away form his table and avoid his corridor the next time.

Vince (sometimes) goes to the gym.  There probably lies the most interaction which could lead to conflict.  Imagine him pulling out his CSN, MFT credentials and telling a top local competitor about the "RIGHT" way to carb up or what baker's yeast products will outperform the guys test/deca cocktail.  Begging for a black eye.  I'm guessing that "car accident" alibi was another way to put "locker room advice gone terribly wrong".

I don't work for a temp agency, I do light security work on the side for a security company.  Doing shows is expensive and if I can collect a few hundred bucks a day doing relatively nothing then I'll do it.  Most of the time when I'm doing it I'm working on an article or posting up here as I have a laptop with wireless cellular high speed access.  Basically, I'm doing two jobs at once and getting paid for it.

Yes I sell supplements at the flea market but I wouldn't sell them out there if I wasn't making good money.  That's what running a business is all about.

And I do go to the gym 5 days a week but when I can't get to the gym, I can train at home with my home equipment.  I don't have to chase after clients, they usually come up to me.  I'll chat with them and hand them a business card afterwards.

Say what you want about my business but its been going strong since 2001 and gets better each year.  Tell me how your business is doing after 5 years 240...

A bit of advice.  FInd out what contest has no one is your class.  The judges will probably still give you third even if you are the only competitor but at least you tell everyone you took a top 3.  Also, yu should try maybe entering a local Special Olympic competition.  They have weightlifting now and maybe you can crack the top five in that, but taking into account there are only 5 guys in your class.

And please tell us you aren't spending your social security check on roids.  They are not helping.  Invest your money into Bee farms or something.  BB, ain't your bag.  Just like mine isn't promoting ab machines.  I realize it and you need to realize BB isn't your bag.

It tastes better and you'll look better, Not sure it will help with your breath though consider the obvious lack of dental care you have.

Vince, my post wasn't about your business, it was about you, man.

And your labor pool days (please show me what labor pool pays several hundred dollars per day to do parking lot event help).

I've been in business 6 months... still very new to it ya know.  After 5 years, I don't know what I'll be doing.  Hopefully I'll be managing a small team of like-minded, profitsharing individuals as we grow our media/promotional/web presence company.  Anyone looking for a job?  ;)
