Dugdale's dvd "Driven"
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:13:21 PM »
I'm not a pumper of this dvd, nor do I work for Mark.  I must say, this is a well done dvd.  It's different from the other bodybuilding dvd's.  It contains Mark training,  his supplements and diet, along with the words on the screen of what he is taking.  But, it also contains his everyday trials with family, job and his bodybuilding lifestyle.  All this with a religious background, and being Catholic myself, I can appreciate his love for Christ.
I really got to know Mark, through this dvd, and I like what I see.  I'm also a family man, so I understand how tough it must be to juggle that with a full time job and bodybuilding.  I recommend this dvd to everyone, it's more then a training dvd, and it really gets rid of the stereotyping people have of bodybuilders.  All the best mark

P.S. I notice you taking a kidney and prostate formula supplement.  Do you recommend it?  I've never heard of anyone taking it.

In terms of intelligence, adaptability, family life and everything outside of bodybuilding, Mark has plenty of character.

Just briefly - he has a successful business which looks to be a multi-million dollar one, a beautiful wife, three beautiful daughters, and he is spiritually fulfilled.  He does all this while being a great pro.

When I look at most pros, the only thing I see they have that I would want is a greater than average ability to gain muscle mass and stay cut.  Mark is probably the only pro so far other than Don Youngblood who I can look up to in other areas of my life.  The only thing I have over Mark is a few inches of height lol.

Don Youngblood's dead when it seems like he didn't need to be . . . maybe something wasn't right about his priorities.

Mark should quit all the "Jesus" stuff and start worshipping his ancestors.
I'm tired of his spiritual crap, b/c it's always followed by "he has a beautiful wife, three beautiful daughters and a multimillion dollar business." even if mark doesn't come out and brag himself, there's always that "God has blessed me b/c I'm such a good guy attitude to it.

Guess what? plenty of people--including his training partner kodiakwannabe--don't have and won't have all that shit just bc/ they love jesus. loving jesus has nothing to do with all that shit. his fucking dad and mom have verything to do with it. Who do you think cosigns the loans you need to get business off the ground?mark has his own hard work to thank in part, but mostly he needs to be glad that fate placed him in a family that trained him to work and was able to provide him with resources to succeed.

jesus has fuckall to do with it, and so does being a good person or havign character as you put it--character will help you die w/o regrets, but it won't get you a wife who dresses skimpy while preaching at everybody. hey man, someone needs to tell her about what jesus promised those who are "stumbling blcoks" if you want to build a multimillion dollar produce business, look into importing some mexians or dominicans who won't hassle you for healthcare.

if you want material success, first, try to be bron in the right family, and second, be born in the right family.

You go to church for different reasons.

Al-Gebra, I'm agnostic. I don't claim to know the truth like religious people do.  I think you misinterpreted my definition of "spiritual fulfillment".  That is an individual thing.  For Mark, that fulfillment comes with Christianity.  For me, it is agnosticism.  Look at THE TRUE ADONIS who is a strong atheist.  While I agree with Adonis more in terms of application of rigid logic than I would a Christian, is he as fulfilled in this area as Mark is?  I would say no.  My point is to search for what makes you a better person, whatever that may be, and Mark has found it.

I would love to give Christianity a shot but there are WAY too many logical flaws with that particular version of a deity, e.g., why would a deity create people knowing in advance they will burn in hell?  Why make a creation knowing it will destroy itself?  But I don't need to get into this, i.e., derail the thread.  My mom said that when I'm feeling down I should pray and see what happens.  I tried to explain that I'm probably the most balanced and fulfilled person I know and religion has nothing to do with that.  Typical Christian mentality to think you need their god to make you happy!  You don't at all.

As for Don Youngblood, like Mark, heavy juicing is not necessary.  Mark has too many other good things in his life so I hope he doesn't go down that path.

Agonistic = fear of commitment  ;)

Then don't label me with anything.  It's safe to say I don't know the answers to everything.  Except the debate about who is better, Dorian or Ronnie, lol.  ;)

You label yourself with the term agnostic and I commented that equals a fear of commitment and you don't know Ronnie is better like the Christians you mearly believe it  ;)

I suppose agnostic is the most appropriate label for me.  How am I supposed to know whether there is or is not a deity?  That question is beyond my nature of being (ontology)!

And Ronnie IS better than Dorian. Objective fact.  ;D

No by using that logic any story thus becomes possible , just because I've never seen a Unicorn doesn't mean I can't say there aren't any , see where I going?

And this is just a plain fact , Dorian was better than Ronnie 8 times , your objective fact is a biased opinion .  ;)

I wasn't trying to say that you should give Christianity a shot, or that Christianity is bad (as one genius interpreted my post). ;D

I don't think I will derail the thread either, as I'm responding to Driven. In Driven, Mark tries to portray this "well-balanced" life which he claims he owes to his faith in Christ. I'm responding to that portrayal, and saying that other factors are more responsible for his material success, and that it is his material success that allows him to enjoy the life he does--NOT CHRIST, as he claims. Christ said that it would be practically impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.  Living well is great, but Mark, please don't drag Christ into it. In his own words, Christ came for the broken and the wounded . . . not those who live perfect lives.

About his well-balanced life . . . If people strive hard to portray the image of perfection, it's usually b/c their existences are pretty hollow. So there is definitely room for the teachings of Christ to work in the Dugdales' lives  :P

You've been on MM . . . you're read the several posts in which they go on about their wonderful sex life and doing it in airplane toilets.  The pictures of the wonderful vacations.  I'm sure you've noticed the boob job, the protestations that juicing does not cause infertility and is a wonderful thing if done Dugdale style. etc. . . . Be honest in your assessment of these things. It seems like they're trying to convince themselves and the rest of the world that everything is hunky-dory in Dugdaleland.

Why do I care?  I have family members who buy into the Christian myth that a lot of churches retail these days--the one that says Christ wants you to live well.  And their belief in this myth hinders them in dealing with the realities of the world.  So in my more activist moments at 3:00 am with some beer in me, I feel compelled to present another view of things. ;D

How do you live life knowing that this is it.  That there is no life after death.  I think every person needs some sort of faith in their life. I'm not saying that, God is exactly like it's depicted in the bible.  But, I do believe there is a superior being, that created everything, and that there is life after death.  How...............To many people have expierenced spirits of people that have passed away. Thats how.

Mark probably is a nice guy - at least as far as Jesus types go - so I'm not saying this to be deliberately offensive. But with a DVD title like "Driven", I was kind of hoping there would be some footage of him "driving" into a certain, uh... well, you get the idea.

I mean, that's a nice ass.
