In Chick's defense, he *has* spoken out against that 'rule' publicly in the recent past.  I cannot cite the exact posts, but he has never said he supported it - he has simply said that it's the rule at this time and wants the guys he represents to be aware of that.

I reiterate my Q for Bob and Kev and anyone else who wants the PDI to crash.

How can you NOT want more money for the pros?  Wayne is putting up 30K for each of the 5 fall shows.  That is $150k!  It's 5 new shows in new cities for fans to go to!  If you don't dig it, that's cool.

But how can ANYONE mock the addition of hundreds of thousands of new dollars to the athletes?  Either you're in bed with the IFBB- and taking your own check over that of the athletes, or ... what else COULD it be?  

Bob- you should really be getting the IFBB to let anyone compete anywhere.  Hell, let your IFBB pros jump over, wipe up the competition, and come back to the IFBB!  WHY deny these hardworking guys a chance to earn? Why oh why?  Speaketh on it.

I can't speak for Bob but I've posted before that I would love to see more money available for the athletes. But in a market place that is shrinking, I don't see how the PDI are going to come through with their promises.

At the moment there are only firm details of ONE show any talk of more is pure speculation. And Wayne is not offering 150K. it will be the other promoters who will be putting up the money. If the three shows do go ahead, he'll be making over $30K in sanction fees.
Any debate over this issue is always met with the same response from you "In bed with the IFBB" or some other crap. Nobody is allowed to have an opinion, nobody is shown respect. We are expected to believe that you are unbiased, yet you are the one with the track record of defending the PDI. Even to the point of totally ignoring their lies. Just read the press release 3 which you've published on YOUR site. If the IFBB made that announcement and was proven wrong you'd be having a fit. So stop the pretence. and wear your PDI badge with pride, you've earned it.

Anytime a reasonable question is asked you'e there to defend the PDI honor. Obvioulsy you see it as a chance to earn some money, just as you did with your Titus project. That died a death too - please don't come out with the crap about selling it to anyone.

I did sell the Titus site, actually the day after it made MSNBC.  I still have some ad rights, but I did sell the site to a great guy.   You can believe what you want, but making asinine statements like that undermines your credibility on all issues.  It's obvious you seriously worry about me, as you spend so much time following and posting about me. 

Why is the BBing marketplace shrinking?  Cause of the guts.  You won't see them in the PDI.

FWIW, one of the top guys jumping- we all know who- has made it abundantly clear he will be competing in the NOC and the Mr O also.

Wayne lets his athletes compete anywhere they want.

And since you have many IFBB pros of both genders doing JO and GP videos, it's going to look realllly bad to selectively enforce one rule on one guy, and let dozens of others walk.  And how much good would a public trial do for the IFBB?  Imagine Boss Blechman grinning ear to ear typing away about the "other" trial of 2006, the one where *** gets on the stand and just blabs away about everything he knows about the IFBB.  Ouch!

Also, I am not a spokesman for PDI, kev.  Realize this.  I talk about the PDI cause I know that 2 federations gives more $ to athletes.  More MONEY, man!  How can ANYONE hate on this?  $150K in prize monies in sept-oct ALONE!  Dude!  HOW can you not want this for the athletes?

And I talk about the athletes cause they're my web design clients!  It *really* doesn't hurt my own stock when my new client Rhino gets an AtLarge endorsement, multiple mag shoots, and is a household name on the boards just 2 months after we launched his name

Granted the "smile" was morphed, but the fact remains that you posed naked for a photo then posted it on male dominated boards. Obviously you were after some form of attention. So if anyone is enbarassing themselves here it's you.

Lift advertising on PBBW. Damn - nice commercial. But I don't think that the first thing he nor I would do is go on a radio show, or an expo, and start talking about 240 or others. When I go to the shows or expos, we talk about bodybuilding issues, the pros, competitors, the girls that are nice and friendly (like some of the pics I took at the Jr. California, especially Mary Jo Cooke), etc.  But if you think that it is on our minds - no. What does bother me is that some people here are so ignorant of the facts and assume that what they say is true without first verifying and checking out things. It really isnt that hard.

What opportunities (money wise) would open up for anyone outside of the already exsisting "top 10"?

If the PDI supporters' claim that shows are boring as we see the same guys over and over...what would change when Ronnie, Jay, Gustavo, Victor, Melvin...all compete in the NOC, and take the top 5 spots (and the money)?

The amatuers that have been given pro cards would be hard pressed to break the top 15-20 of ANY pro show...and STILL not be making any money.

It sounds like the judging criteria is a tad different.  More focused upon aesthetics, etc.  Why not let some of the #8 thru #20 IFBB guys take a shot at that?  guys like Ron, Cuts, and Gus won't win PDI show- but Troy, Darrem, heath, etc, would!  So why not let them cash in, and still do IFBB shows?  Same guys won't be winning IFBB shows as PDI shows.

What about the fans?  Those of us who might be interested in attending a PDI event will have to make travel plans, too, ya know.  While NYC and Orlando are out of the question, I would consider making the trip to Vegas to see what the PDI is all about.

How's that any different than what you have now?  The top 5 guys could in theory enter every IFBB show.  Obviously, no one is going to do 15 shows a year, so the more shows there are, the more opportunities there are for everyone.

This is a red herring you're tossing out to try to divert attention from the fact that on this issue you're siding against the athletes and with the IFBB powers-that-be.

To be quite honest...I could care less. Other than lee, I haven't had ONE athlete express an interest in challenging this rule.

My efforts have been and will be, focused on letting the athletes make guest appearances, work Expo's, store openings, seminars, etc....at non-sanctioned shows.

This will open the door for athletes to make more money( by way of) being allowed to make a living at their chosen profession as a independant contracted athlete.

Given the fact that competing COSTS money...and the low purse being offered, the only athlete making money will be the one that wins the show....every one else will LOSE money in the process.
