Your point is what?

Mindboggling translucence.

My point is that as the IFBB Athlete's rep, shouldn't you be embracing the chance for IFBB athletes to be able to earn more money?

Every item I won approval on, is geared to making the athletes more money...so is challenging the ruling on making appearances, guest posing, etc at non sanctioned events...

Nothing is stooping anyone from going over to the pDI, and trying to make more money.

No one is knocking down the door (Lee excluded) for the ability to compete in both feds....most of the guys I've talked to don't want anything to do with Wayne, or to step on stage with amateurs. Just giving you the facts....

Do you think it would be in the athletes' best interest to be honest with you about their PDI intentions?

Seriously.  Your credibility isn't exactly top notch.

I'm sure I speak for 240 and many others when I say that if you were really looking out for the athletes' best interests, you would force them to join PDI - even if it was against their will! They've obviously been cowed into submission by the jackbooted IFBB thugs. It's up to you lead the revolt! The men need a Spartacus, and you're just a Snotacus.

Squirticus?

I'll have to work on this insult and post it later. Please check this thread for it.

240, don't pretend you care about the athletes. You've managed to inveigle yourself into the PDI, well done; but your reasons for doing so are money and 'fame'. If the IFBB offered you some serious cash you would spit out Wayne's cum and open wide for uncle Joe. You love the fact that through bodybuilding you've managed to make a name for yourself. That in its self is a bad indictment of the state of bodybuilding today.
I'm not begrudging you for making a living - just don't give us any crap about wanting to improve the lives of athletes.

That seems like a reasonable position.

The people who are happy with what they've got will most likely where they are.  The people who are unhappy will seek out alternatives.  With few exceptions, it's doubtful most people will want to do both.

But I agree with all who've stated that they should at least have the option to compete wherever they'd like at any time.

If the industry grows, there's a chance that 240 gets more work.  If he produces quality sites, there's a chance he'll get more work.  And if he's producing quality sites for athletes in the industry, there's a chance that more will hire him.

Despite his often abrasive nature, he does have a vested interest in his clients - and POTENTIAL clients - doing as well as possible.

Yeah, this is true.  Competition between federations will give BBers bargaining power, and they'll make more money to stick with a given federation.  They have money, and can by homes, health insurance, and yes, even websites.

Competition takes $ away from Manion, Weiders, and even Wayne, as they ALL have to pay market value for work or the competition will.

Look at the PDI so far- even though the first show has not even taken place, Rhino is earning dollars from it.  AtLarge deal, multiple shoots, more guest appearances and posings... Already, BBers are earning more money because of the PDI.

More money for the athletes is a GOOD THING.

i would not accosiate my self with someone that did not do good work, and was not serious about what I hired that person to do.
Rob and I had been talking way before the name Pro Division inc, was ever a thought...

I trust Rob and his work so much, that I just hired him to take over my STUDIO website

Thanks Vinny.

And I think anyone I have worked with can tell you that the obnoxious 240 persona is just for fun.  In real life, I am a different person... anxious to make every site better than the last.

Chic, don't think that just because you aren't hearing from the other pros they aren't talking about the PDI.  After the Natural Product show in Anaheim this year I got a call and a couple emails from IFBB pros who told me ALLOT of the guys who attended the show were talking about the possibilities of the PDI and going over once their contracts have expired.  NO ONE in their right mind would tell you they were thinking of going to the PDI as long as they are still under contract. That would be very stupid.

What difference would it make?

Weider only has publication contracts, and even if 5 athletes wanted to go to the PDI...theres nothing Weider/AMI could do about it anyway...Why the wait?

You're either going, or you aren't...if these alledged athletes have made the decision, there are no reasons to wait to tell the world....

Sounds fishy to me...

Bob raises a good point.  If there is no contract preventing the athletes from jumping ship, then why the hesitation from those IFBB pros complaining?

You're kidding right.  You think Weider would do nothing if one of his signed contracted athletes was going to compete in the PDI and support Wayne.  Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.  There is absolutely not one person on this board including you that believes that.  That is what gives Weider his jollys.  The fact that he can control these guys.  And right now certain guys are making money from him so why rock the boat right now.  I can easily name two guys who told me outright that if their contracts are not renewed they will more than likely go to the PDI.  That is a fact.  And they both told me that at the show (Natural Product) many of the guys were talking about it.  Bob like I said I like you but you don't know everything these guys are thinking.

Bob, I had the swordfish tonight.  It was superb.  Never had it before.  I recommend it.  I didn't like the wine as much... 2 long island iced teas made things all better tho

If their contracts arent going to be renewed, then it would make no difference anywaay...I think most guys know when they're going to be resigned...if they don't...they should be asking NOW, anyway....Robin would be up front and give the guys plenty of time to shop themselves around...

BTW...when you mention Weider, you don't really believe Joe and Ben have anything to do with this stuff, do you?

I heard that Joe & Ben feed more to the pigeons in the park than to pro BBers.

Joe Weider sold the mags 3 years ago, and the nutrition company no longer offers contracts.  There are now only AMI Publication deals from what used to be the Weider empire.  Somehow Joe and Ben, both of whom are now barely alive, are still seen as the ultimate villains.  In fact, they haven't had any real control for about 10 years.  They're out of it.  Neither could tell you who won the New York Pro.  Pecker, another popular villain, owns half the Olympia, but he has nothing else to do with the IFBB.  No matter how he spins it, Wayne was in control in his final years in the IFBB and he left the IFBB when he formed the Pro Division 2 years ago in a brazen financial power play -- the barely alive Weiders were and still are convenient scapegoats for him too.  Manion is in control now.  People need to quit punching at ghosts and forget the Weiders already.  Life moved on.

What about all the non Weider athletes?
What brother are you referring too her?  "That is what gives Weider his jollys.  The fact that he can control these guys."
You are so far out of the loop you don't know anything about the current businees.
How can anyone take your claims of having spoken to people seriously considering your so gullible to believe that one of your friends spent $100,000 trying to prove some strands of hair came from the head of a former president! A $100 DNA test would have sufficed.

Kevin don't pretend to know something you have no idea about.  Just sit back in your little home with your pot of coffee and read don't type anything.  Your input here embarrass you more and more.  You are a photogrpaher and thats it.  Please don't try to be something you never will be.  Take pictures, remember thats all you do.

$100 DNA test.  I think you really starting to believe you are smarter than you really are.  YOu truly need to take a reality pill and change the filters on your lenses.  They are fogging up your perspective in life.  I'm surprised you even knew he was a president.  I give you credit for at least looking that up.
