Judging Crossovers??? Why???
« on: June 07, 2006, 07:47:37 PM »
Ok.... I've seen this happen more than once.... even happened to me once.  So I'm talking about tested shows in a few of the natural conferences.... Lets call them Dave and Joe....

So Dave gets 2nd in the masters and Joe gets 3rd. They both crossover and do the  light heavy as well and Joe gets 2nd and Mike gets 3rd ?  WTF?  Is the flaw with the judging or would the judges say 'well Joe got harder and looked better after the masters prejudging so he did better by the time the light heavies came out' ( 15 minutes later)

Anyone else ever see this?

it's how you present yourself.  fatigue, cramping, lack of concentration, all can effect how you present yourself.  so it's possible that people can be ranked differently 15 minutes apart.

That has happened. At a competition in 2004, a friend of mine was competing in the Over 40+, and also in the Overall Light Heavyweights.

He placed second in the Over 40+ and this other guy was third, and later on, in the Light Heavyweights, placed 6th, and the other guy 5th. He was pretty confused on this too.

Spoke to one of the judges who said that in the hour and a half between the two, the other guy got a little better, at that moment and time.

Physiques change...as weve all seen guys spill over whithin the round, or start to get harder as water is sweated out.

Another reason this happens on occasion, is that the judging panel changes from class to class in some shows...different panel, different result.
