it's on, baby! You're looking at the 11th Mr Olympia right there

I think its funny that Flex broke the news before Muscular Development, the magazine Jackson works for . . .

Don't piss on 240 for that.

He probably only delivers the material he is given.

The question is why DeMilia, or whoever is sending the information to 240, wants 240 to post stuff like that?

I stand by my word.  (Well, I never publicly dropped any WORD, just lots of Dexter teeth shots!)

There's a reason FLEX printed this and not MD.  There's a reason Priest says he's doing both shows (NOC and O).  There's a reason Vince Taylor wanted to qualify for the O before going PDI.

If I am proven to be wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.  But I stand by my interpretation of facts and events, that a number of guys are going to do the NOC then wait to see if they are banned from the O, then come with a suit.

And before anyone says anything, I'm just a guy with an opinion- I'm not publicly announcing anything for anyone.

Also, notice who started this thread.  Anyone remember his take on the PDI?

And I remember Horton mocking me yesterday for saying there will be attempts by company "A", the IFBB, to secure its own resources, before attacking company B.  Today we have a man with IFBB ties who has dissed the PDI repeatedly, making an announcement that a rumored PDI asset is sticking with the IFBB for a show he had previously declared he will not be doing.

Right, wrong, or in the middle, I am going to enjoy this Sept's unfolding of events.

Well you can't erase the fact that Dexter signed the contract so he probably want to do it ( or maybe Met-RX wants him to do it)

All of the guys that I have spoken to- they all want to do the PDI AND the Olympia.  That's what the PDI wants, that's what the jumpers want, and that is what many IFBB guys would enjoy... Imagine if the currently 2nd tier IFBB Euro guys could do a few October shows near their home countries, right after the O.  They might make $2000 all year with the IFBB, but could come out with 10 or 20k from the Euro Tour, where the bigger names may not be at every show.

And here's the kicker...
There's a reason that there is a 2 week window BEFORE, and a 2 week window AFTER, the Mr Olympia from any PDI shows.  Guys want to be able to do the NOC in NYC, then 2 weeks later do the O, then 2 weeks later hit up the Euro Tour.  Mr O is sept 30, right?  See how nicely that fits? Fans and athletes can enjoy both the PDI and the IFBB!  We can all be friends :)

Cool, I understand.

And I think that the part with them participating in the NOC to challenge the IFBB would make it real interesting.

How many have you talked to?

Good for him, nothing like competing for 3rd place.

I hope Phil Heath beats him.

Only a couple, but the general consensus is that if a fairly large chunk of the Olympia lineup had to be suspended, the IFBB wouldn't do it.  It would allow the two federations to co-exist, de facto, rather than de jure.  Did I get those mixed up?  It would just happen, and become precedent, instead of being determined by men in ties and decreed.

I dunno what will happen.  It's business- it could end tomorrow, it could be bought out, there could be some change of events, I dunno.  But what I personally gathered is pretty brilliant, IMO.  Putting on the mother of all shows in NYC (in terms of effects, quality, excitement, etc), with a few IFBB fan favorites onstage who are already qualified for the O.   Then, they all enter the O two weeks later.  WIll the IFBB suspend some of its most popular guys who are in contest shape?  What would the fan reaction be if say, a Dex/Lee/Vince/??? were ready to get onstage and they were denied?

Kind of a very slow and public game of chicken.  If the IFBB blinks, the guys do the O and there is precedent.  If they deny the guys a chance to compete, the fans are gonna be a little irked, and suddenly, the IFBB guys have grounds for lawsuit, since no one enforces suspension on ppl who break other IFBB rules.

I hope no one thinks people will get banned if they compete in the pdi and then go to the O or any other ifbb event, but what will probably happen they will be placed much lower than they would be if they hadn't competed in the pdi, just like the wbf.  But what will happen when everyone knows the judges are screwing the competitor, it will be great for them to take shit from the fans, and the ifbb will lose face and fans.

If say at least 3 big competitors do the NOC the IFBB wouldn't dare give them the shaft at the Olymp. If Dexter gets lower than 4th, people will be pretty upset.

its exciting because he wasn't sure if he was going to compete. He skipped last year so it wasnt out of the question. here's a bb who beat a modern Jay Cutler, is at least #3 in the world, and has a good shot at being the next mr. Olympia after Ronnie. Sounds exciting to me . . .
