Americans invented the light bulb, the telephone, the airplane, interchangeable parts, the transistor, the integrated circuit, and the Internet. The US has also produced nearly half of all Nobel Prize winners and accounts for the vast majority of scientific discoveries made in the past 50 years, especially in the fields of computers and electronics. The US dominates the world culturally, economically, politically, and militarily, and is still the only nation to send people to the moon. Somehow these facts aren't consistent with America being a nation of "dumbfucks" who are only good for a laugh. 
Yes America is one big ass country. What if we don't look at the European countries (comparable to the States in size) individually but as a whole, the European Union. So we could tally up the Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, etc inventions. That would give you quite an impressive list wouldn't you say? Food for thought: without European inventions the US wouldn't even exist.
My point is that it is only logical for the largest country in the western world to have the most impressive list of inventions. Otherwise it'd simply be pathetic.
What really is pathetic is that one of the richest countries in the world also has some of the worst education, the poorest neighbourhoods and the highest crime rates. You are not represented by your government but controlled, and most of you are to blind to see it. Why does your government put so much emphasis on foreign politics and so little on solving internal problems? If you want an example that had the rest of the world thinking " how the hell is that possible" I'll give you Katrina.
