The dude from the Aussie said that the day before the contest, Bennafatto was going beserk and is a complete nut job...... hahaha he is a walking meltdown waiting to happen, not surprised if we never hear from him again.. then again , Gandolf may have rescued him and brought him back to the land of the hobbits... what is he like 4-9 ??

I received an email from Francis last week, he is back in South Africa. He said he really enjoyed his comeback and is thinking of further surgery on his torn pec. I saw him back in around 91 and again in my show this year. In 2006 he was 25-30lb heavier and in much better condition. In my opinion, without the pec tear he would have been top 3. The reports of Francis being a nutter were much egagerated. Although he beats to his own drum, he was a fantastic guest. As a promoter I can tell you that he was a pleasure to have in my show. Both Francis and Vince could not do enough to promote the contest. From gym appearances, news and radio interviews, to setting up the venue. They were the first to offer. Any young pros could learn alot form these gentlemen. TD

While I don't agree that Strydom was at his best in 2006, Benfatto was - torn pec aside.  Makes you wonder how much he's doing in the way of bodybuilding drugs also.

Believe it or not 50 valiums is common among sedative abusers, even 10 mgs. I know a girl who takes xanax 30 at a time, she is a total fuck up though.

Correct, Marc was having a bit of fun, albeit at Benfattos expense. Benfatto was so excited to be back competing that people read this excitement as crazy. I had some very lucid conversations with him and he is a stand up guy.

Another euphemism I would say. 

I'm sure plenty of bodybuilders have been high well on stage in one way or another.  At a local show, someone I know had two shots of brandy before hitting the stage.  Might not be much but it was enough for him to feel it.

Didn't Mike Christian do blow during the WBF show?

Not uncommon Matt. I know some bb's that chug quite a bit more. They swear by the alcohol/vascular response for stage prep.
