See you at the NOC Vince.

Wow, when the rumor mill was working overtime yesterday, people were giggling with glee over the idea of Vince pulling out.  Now that he has confirmed he's doing the NOC, it's very quiet.

No disrespect to Vince - who was a very great bodybuilder. But if the most excitement the PDI can offer is whether or not a 46 year old will show up so that Lee Priest has at least one competitor on his level, I think I'll stay home and watch Iron Chef instead.

I won't be attending any other PDI shows either. So when those get cancelled... excuse me, "rescheduled", you can attribute that to me too.  :)

lol

When they come to Vegas next year, I'll make an effort to get there.

Maybe they'll up the ante by adding a women's bikini fitness division before then.   ;D

Did he actually say that himself?  He told in person on a videcast that he WAS NOT A PDI athlete.  Didn't anyone listen to it?

If Wayne can make you a "pro" with a wave of his magic pen, I imagine he can make you a PDI athlete just as easily.

It's  amazing that everyone wants established pros in PDI events. I'll admit that it is attractive to have people compete who have a track record, however our activity needs fesh personalities to remain interesting. After all Coleman was just another also ran until his first O win. Ya gotta give new guys a chance. There are a whole bunch of them out there waiting for their chance. Lighten up already on the supposed big names.

It's not like we're holding our breaths with arms crossed over our chests until Wayne comes up with - oh, I don't know - Nasser El Sonbaty. But isn't there some happy medium between that and just giving pro status to anyone Wayne feels like? Maybe inviting the top class finishers from the USA who didn't win the overall?

Exclusively new talent won't sell enough tickets or attract enough sponsors to get this thing off the ground...

Ribo,
I think that's what he is doing at the moment. It will be interesting to see if some of the class winners have the balls to bust out of the mold and jump into something new.

The method by which they went about granting pro status was not the best IMO. It somewhat detracts from the credibility and exclusiveness of the organisation.

There is precedent, however...it's how the IFBB Pro Division (now Bodybuilding League) was started, too.

Just go this off of BB.com...

The only thing that matters is what GETBIG.COM had to say about it.   ;)

Do either of you even know the method??

There is criteria, maybe you both should do some research before making completely incorrect comments.

I got my info on this from listening to Bob on PBW.

Not enough research, I guess.  :-\

Thats cool, if you want to know anything, you come to me, I will tell it like it is as I always do.

Remember, I am first an advocate of the sport, the athletes and get big, I don't care whether it's pdi, npc, ifbb...Is'nt it supposed to be that way?

This whole thing is stupid, I do what I do for the love of it, the respect, and the journey..
