None of us doubt his work ethic.

Hopefully he was doing plenty of quad sweep exercises though and not presses and squats

1-leg ext....4 sets of 20

2-leg press, feet close and low, 4 sets of 30 reps

3-front squats, feet close and very deep, 4 sets of 20....by this point i was not feeling well, but i hung in -

4-single leg, leg press by the company "KING FITNESS" supersets with walking lunges, i thought, this is nothing because we are not using any weights with the lunges...i was dead wrong.
We did 40 reps with single leg press, right into the lunges....I'm in fucking pain as i type this.

5-10 min on the stairmill....then into stretching and flexing the quads...that i have never done before after a leg session.

All in all...KING was all business, and has the look of redemption ...for 9 weeks out, he is lean and tight, and was full of energy....

sounds pretty brutal, King is a hard trainer he just doesn't have very good genetics, why did you guys do so many reps?

This is it, no more heavy training for me. Check the ego at the door folks. I see guys with top physiques using moderate weights, with fast pace/pumping movements...way to build a nice bodybuildng physique. Ive been training like this for a while and I have to admit im seeing great results...Form, feeling each rep, full rang eof motion, etc..

He is doing more reps for the detail and just changing his routine around so that they respond, he stopped his heavy leg training and is training smarter....trying to bring the waist line down.

When I say he is all business...I mean that, and yes we had 5 of us doing legs but there was no BSing and we moved very fast.

The actual weight is not the concern for him, but the point of the training is to shock the legs...I'm still in shock right now....LOL
Just so i make some of you happy....he did 315 on the front squat for 30 reps....LOL

I don't really see the point of front squats on smith. Free weight it forces you to stay upright but on a smith staying upright is not really an issue. But whatever...

Well, for me at least, I have no choice but to use the Smith. I currently train alone. Without a spotter, and once you get up to high reps, it makes sense to use the Smith. Back when I used to have a partner at my old hardcore gym, we did free form baby!

Yes yes, I'm not arguing against using the smith, only that front squats don't seem to have a purpose like they do on free bar squats. You can stay perfectly upright with the bar on your back - not uncomfortable as hell like when the bar is resting on your windpipe!
But okay, maybe it "feels" a bit different. Whatever works.

Actually, even on the Smith, the bar rests on my windpipe. That's just the way I do it. No sissy pad or anything.

Man, you misread me a second time. That was exactly my point - unnecessarily uncomfortable to me.

Smiths are great for when your alone but also because it's easy to push too/past failure and get the most out of every set.
