I am not a Dr but to take AAS this affects mostly the liver and perhaps Cardiovascular system, heart arteries etc.

It's the large amount of Protein and possible diuretics that will affect the kidney.

Who knows, maybe he can get by without the diruetics and use .75 -1 gm of protein per pound of BW.

Other thing is maybe he truly has a knowledgeable DR in his corner helping him thru every step of the process.

I am not condoning his behavior but I had the pleasure of meeting him yrs ago and he was a nice guy.

It seems to me to be a very foolish thing to do, even without AAS or diuretics.

However, its' his life and he can decide what he wants to do with it. It is kind of inspirational that he could compete and prepare for a show while on dialysis, but, very very foolish.

In any case, I wish him the best.

Wise man does his research. IMO, instead of trying to discredit me and insult me, Bob could have opened his Nextel and chirped Don Long, J Manion, the promoter (it's on the IFBB page), or anyone else in the know, and got the info immediately. WAY faster than an internet nobody could. Hell, this is probably what FLEX Online did- read the boards, called Don, got the info, and wrote the story.

IMO, this kind of irrational, knee-jerk response is not the kind of reaction that someone in the position of Athlete's Rep should exhibit. Rational thought processes and the choice to use REASON, not emotion, when speaking, would be preferable. I hope he wouldn't jump to such conclusions during tough negotiations with IFBB brass.

Bob, I don't know why you have it in for me, but there is no reason to keep going at me. If I post something you disagree with, just find the correct infomation and post it. Don't say something like:

Don't sweat it brah.

He isn't natural by any means now- his arms look more vascular than Cutler's at the expo tables. This guy had the potential to be steady top 10 O. My guess, and this is only my opinion and thinking, is that maybe Don wants to go out on top. I do not know what the life expectancy of someone with zero renal function is, but perhaps he just wants to live fast (well, as fast as a Bber can be) and go out on top. If any of us were lifelong BBers, and we knew we had X amount of time to live, hell, we might throw caution to the wind and just do one last show, feel the applause and rush of competition one last time. but that's just one theory.

Or, maybe he'll compete without dropping water. More of a glorified guest posing. I doubt this is the case though.

People hava said that he's been looking better at every appearance, so he's obviously taking in adequate protien and it's not hurting him. Maybe he narrowed it down to a couple types of gear tha don't hit the kidneys and that's what he's sticking with. Maybe this is the next frontier...stay hooked up to machines and keep your organs clean while you juice.
