One of my son's friends was over to the house the other day so I decided to see how much he could deadlift.Now this was the 1st time this kid had ever seen a barbell.I had him do a few warm up sets with what I thought would be light weight for him, well light weight I guess it was because I saw no evident of strain at all with 100 pounds , none with 135, none with 185, none with 205 .I then thought for sure that 225 would tax this kid but hell no, so I upped it to 265 and there I found his limit.I thought 265 was pretty good for a kid 13 and a half.He actually did several shrugs and with a curl attempt at the completion of the lift not knowing that is not what you need to do at the top of the lift. I really think that with a few months training this kid could top 300 easily.....maybe alot more.
I also saw him run and jump over a picnic table just the other day .
OK, how strong were YOU when you were a young lad and do you know of anyone this strong at this age ?
