I actually appreciate this comparison, although it is not needed because Shawn was an incredible bodybuilder who stood next to 3 Mr. Olympia's in his career. I still to this day look at Shawn and freak out that we are friends as he is one of my favorite bodybuilders of all time. He represented what bodybuilding should look like and that is what I am intending to bring to the stage next year. I understand that I will have my work cut out for me next year as I should because every athlete is hungry and that is what is going to make our sport better. Lastly, I'd like to say that I appreciate the comments made as they have been very respectful for the most part and not dumb posts that some peeps like to throw in to just jack a thread up.

Phil Heath has incredible conditioning for someone so new, and he has some freaky bodyparts.  But as far as overall 'pleasing-to-the-eye' nature, Shawn ray just has 'it'.  He just flows like bodybuilders don't flow anymore, especialy earlier in his career.

It's unrealistic right now for Phil Heath to be as polished as Shawn Ray was in his prime. Give Phil about five more years and we will probably see one of the most polished aesthetic physiques of all time. The guy won the first two pro shows he entered, last guy I remember doing that was Flex Wheeler.

Phil is awesome and IMO should be the next Mr. O.  But again, he is no Gold Ray.  Even in his Nationals form, years before he was able to further "polish", Gold was still better than Phil is now.  It's genetics...
