Question for Bob
« on: July 10, 2006, 07:55:36 AM »
Hi Bob,

I  questioned Lee in a post about the possibility of athletes wanting a change in an IFBB rule (particulary competing in a second federation while retaining their IFBB affiliation) by starting a petition.  If presented in an athletes meeting or just to a higher power with enough signatures does this necessarily mean a rule change or is it purely up to whoever is at the top? (sorry I am not sure who that is..I guess Ben Weider)  I just think that if the PDI can help bbs that don't normally make it into the prize money at the bigger IFBBs shows earn a better livelihood then that is a great thing. Plus more competitions is always a good thing. Thanks.

Bottom line any bodybuilder should be able to enter any show he wishes but some sign away there rights to only enter certain shows.imo some bodybuilders take mny on the side to enter the shows they are told to enter.this is a business of names that will draw an crowed to put mny in the pockets of promoters.

So far, no one really expressed an interest in being allowed to enter PDI events (should they take place).

As for getting a "petition" started...athletes would first have to actually attend meetings that are held....THEN, they could request to get a petition started, or address any other issue of concern.

Lets see if another federation comes to be, before jumping the gun.
