This thread is for issues or concerns about Mr.Getbig.

I have one issue that needs to be addressed.

Pictures.  Pictures need to be taken at the same distance for all competitors in order for accurate size comparisons.  Perhaps Lift Studios,Tre or some other photographer can help give guidelines on what is the best distance for pictures.  Perhaps they can also give input on how to take pictures with explaining things such as camera height etc...

The prize money is well over $1000 for first, $600+ for second, and places #4-10 are starting to get some serious gimmes.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Since there is a lot on the line here so far, it would only be fair to the vendors that all pictures be accurate and fair.  I want some experts to help us with this.

Pictures can be deceptive for sure. That's why you see guys in their kitchen who look amazing and guys on stage who look like balls. Stage lighting is bright and wash people out. When you take pictures inside with artificial lighting it can distort the image and create funky shadows. Also if you're not tan enough it won't show your definition.

My suggestion would be to take photos outside under natural light. If not get where you have the best lighting indoors and against a solid wall. You'll want someone to take the photos for you and not try and set up a timer and run and pose. Every one should have at least one friend who will be willing to do this for you. No bathroom shots or webcam shots or mirror photos.

Naturally if the person takes a photo with a professional camera it will make you look a lot better then using your disposable one.

Case in point -

Photo 1 - A photo I took of Phil Heath 4 weeks out from his Jr. Nationals debut - outside - at a distance of 10-12ft but using a zoome lense and cannon digital rebel...

Photo 2 - A photo of Phil 3 weeks out from USAs indoors in the gym - same camera but a couple feet away.

Just try to get the best camera available and the best lighting.

Do we need to let you know we're entering far in advance?  If not I was thinking about trying to diet down, see what I look like and then enter.  As I've never tried dieting I have absolutely no idea what will happen.

What about just for Getbig Personalities only.  That is key.  Otherwise this wouldn`t be Mr.Getbig.   Also, what about an competitor division for those who have competed before or not....Just throwing some things out there.  I think we should have a set date when all the rules are ammended.

So far we have about 12 confirmed competitors. About 4 confirmed today. I guess the fear is a bunch of outsider npcs jumping on board, but so far this is not the case. If alot of people sign up(npc's) we could create a "Mr.Getbig Classic" for those that want to see Arvilla vs. Adonis, Adonis Vs. Goudy, battle it out etc. But of course, this will require more prizes - something that certainly doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility based on how things are going. Npcs are welcome though, they will only make this a bigger contest.

The addition of more classes will depend on the demand for it.

As far as deadlines, well the Mr.Getbig will be held on the 22 and the Mr.Natural Getbig will be held on the 23. Deadline for pics will be on the 20th.

In the meantime we'll implement some of these new ideas regarding photo requirements, blurring competitors faces to prevent judging bias, etc.

That's the beauty of only having only having members who've been here for awhile in the contest.

POS's are well known, and won't be able to get away with it.

Side note: I'm not a fan of having a big prize for this contest. It takes away from the purpose IMO. That's just me though.

Also, I don't think the judging panel should consist of newbies like Arvilla, Wolfy et al.

sarcasm, Goat, flower, INSOMNIA, Geo, Dubbs, Bigger Business, Shawn Ray, freeagain and rocket.

I agree that people participating needs to have been registered on Getbig for a good while. I'd say 1 year is an absolute minimum. Unfortunately this means that both sarcasm and Oliver Klaushof are disqualified. But rules are rules.

As for ~flower~ being a judge, I disagree, although she's been a member long enough, she would be better qualified judging dogs.
