you're all morons. cormier has no obligation to keep bodybuilding. to you guys who obsess over this shit, it may be your entire life, but for normal people working out is basically something they do in passing. to label someone a failure for not reaching their bodybuilding potential is absurd. you have no say in the direction he chooses to take his life. maybe he just doesn't give a shit. who cares if he has great genetics, if he doesn't want to pursue bodybuilding (and why would anyone to begin with?), it's probably for the better.

and also, who the hell are you people to judge his lifestyle? plenty of people smoke weed, get drunk and go clubbing and live happy lives. i doubt many of you are aware of this, as your social grasp extends only as far as the internet.

in short - it's his life, you idiots. leave the guy alone.

I think you're reading this the wrong way mate. People have big confidence in Cormier's abilities. We just wants him to fulfill his potential.

Cormier has been bitching over his placings the last few years.

Chances are, that if he would've trained, dieted and lived with the discipline of a Yates, a Coleman, nobody could've denied him the ASC or the Olympia.

But perhaps Cormier is afraid of maxing out his potential. Maybe he's more comfortable not knowing whether he could've been the greatest.

Now he was just a contender.

Still, I think he should've won the Olympia in 1999.

on some level, yes, i believe that these comments stem from people's curiosity over what he'd look like at his best. my problem is with the self rigteous attitude people take on these issues.

the fact is that bodybuilding is not a sport, it's a hobby. additionally, i believe that in most cases interest in bodybuilding stems from extreme body dysmorphia. i'd venture to guess that most of you on this message board spend excessive ammounts of time standing in front of a mirror. though we can't fully understand the mindsets of these pros, we can at least realize that they're merely human. knowing this, it should be understood that those who take it the furthest are probably the ones with the greatest insecurities. maybe cormier is happy the way he is, no?

I understand BBing to a certain degree, i realize it's basically an obsession with you own body and with that being said we all know everyone is genetically limited to what they can look like. That is a reason why i don't think i could be competitive, i don't like to compete in ANYTHING unless i plan to win or do very very well (which has always been a downfall of mine) and when you start BBing with that kind of a mindset it can really effect your overall performance, i personally don't (in my own mind) take things to the limit because i like the feeling that i could have done better even when i do awesome or win in something because who wants to say they did all they could and still not be the best/best ever. Either way i know it's not the healthiest thing and all that but it's the way i feel at times and i guarantee other do also, it's all just a struggle with perfection.

I think Cormier has gotten to the point where he just doesn't give a shit about bodybuilding any more. Almost every time there has been a close decision, he has gotten the short end of the stick- 99 O, 2004 and 2005 ASC. At some point, I think he just said to himself "fuck it, what's the point?"
