You guys are talking about a 3 Time Team Universe and USA National Champ. Height and weight don't matter. I believe he is a natural bb and that isn't a limiting factor on his physique. Many guys are 200lbs and up and aren't near as muscular and conditioned as he is. He is a GREAT bodybuilder.

You need to persue a different strategy than comedy. It's not your strong point.

My argument wasnt whether he is a good bodybuilder...it was whether or not he was natural. Besides, I rather be the worst bodybuilder in the world and be 6ft 2 than to be the best bodybuilder in the world and be under 5ft

Nope...He was with AST during the Team Universe years he is now with Instone in his pro career. One of those pictures show this. He is still the same physique wise if you look at his Team Universe pics. He said in an interview on bodybuilding.com website that he will remain natural even as an IFBB pro. Just type in his name under search.

Don't bag on Derik because he earned his pro card by rules of the IFBB.

I feel that only the overall champ at the Nationals should get their pro card....at most the top 2 as the USAs is done.

Until/if weight classes are incorporated at the pro level, the lighter/smaller competitors will always be looked down upon.

I, for one, would rather have a physique like Deriks than other BIGGER/TALLER bodybuiders like say....Palumbo, Kamali, Fux, Titus, Gunther, Ruhl.......Ronnie the gut....

I just don't see the need to be an a-hole and insult the man because of his height, something none of us have any control over. Do you make fun of handicapped people? If your brother had some sort of handicap, would you be cool with people ridiculing him?

A short man decide upon a profession that is based SOLELY on looks. Of course people are going to comment on this. Do you ever see any 4'10" supermodels? If you did, you would see comments there too...

It's based solely on physique, not looks numbnuts. There have always been short bodybuilders, because its actually a genetic advantage to some extent when it comes to developing muscle thickness. So to equate it to a 4'10" supermodel is stupid. None has ever existed.

A couple of great bodybuilders of Derik's height that come to mind are Danny Padilla and Thierry Pastel. Both had physiques that were amazing. You can knocking 'em, but they'd blow your sorry ass off the stage.
