It's a big county with 3 million people.  Some are rich.  Most are middle class.  A lot are poor.  This is from the last census:

The median income for a household in the county is $58,820, and the per capita income for the county is $25,826. About 7.0% of families and 10.3% of the population are below the poverty line.




That is true that some are middle class or lower but those stats must be old. because the average house in OC costs over 700,000.

The region's third-quarter median home price rose 10% from the year-earlier period to $710,700, more than three times the national median of $215,900, and just below the San Francisco level of $726,900, according to the National Association of Realtors."
