On July 15th, I hosted a Fight Party for Mosley-Vargas. In a pre-fight interview, Vargas talked about a weight loss plan that included eating only a singly hard boiled egg and then a bottle of Niquil to fall asleep at night because he was so hungry. Then I saw that he went up 14 lbs after the weigh in (likely he had dehydrated to make weight and then rehydrated). I thought all of that added up to trouble. Sure enough, he was weak as a kitten and slow.
It is amazing that a professional athlete would follow a nutrition plan which, if it is to be believed, offered only several grams a protein per day, stripping him of weight, sure, but mainly muscle weight, that led to his defeat against a smaller and older man.
