bwahahahah i love how yngwie wears that same outfit even in public, he refuses to acknowledge that he has become fat as hell and still wears the tight leather. oh well, if your among the greatest guitarists ever to live you can get away with stuff.

How many idiots "scalloped" their fretboards, ruining good guitars trying to mimick that slob?

Yngwie has written the same song for 20 years. He should try to be a little innovative.

A lot of guys do that. How about Bob Dylan or the Rolling Stones. Your just mad cause you bought a Squier from Target and couldn't master any of your favorite Culture Club songs hahahaha

I just grow bored of his standard sweeps and harmonic minor runs.

Yeah but that's his thing.

It's still boring after 20 years. It might be "cool" in certain circles, yet, if you've learnt one Yngwie song, you've learnt them all.

Yngwie should take lessons from Michael Romeo, symphony X does have some innovative stuff. I grew bored of Yngwie after learning "Black Star" many years ago. Oh, and John Petrucci beats the shit out of the neoclassical losers  ;)

Dream Theater is good if your in the high school band or aren't cool enough to grow long hair. Usually the guys who like dream theater are guys who enjoy playing like robots instead of looking cool which is what rock is about.

John Coltrane takes Yngwie back to school any day, even from his grave  ;)

Finally someone posts something worthwhile! :)
Yngwie was great, but that was 20 years ago. As been said before, he hasn't done anything really new in quite a long time.
Coltrane was constantly improving. Dylan, hasn't improved, but his music is not one that merits improvement. Pop/top 40/rock and roll has always been about familiarity and structure. Jazz, a la  Coltrane, is about how many things you can do/say, without repeating yourself. Often viewd as playing as many versions of the same thing, without reiterating a previous statement or word.

There are plenty of great metal/rock guitarists, and many that have improved or changed, that would top the list before Yngwie. And NO C.C. DEVILLE IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!!!

Eddie Van Halen, John Frusciante (SP...dude from the Chili Peppers), Jason Becker prior to his illness, Marty Friedman, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai......
