Sartorius muscle
« on: July 26, 2006, 12:15:31 PM »
Does anyone have any idea of how this muscle can be more directly trained than by doing squats, leg-curls, knee/sit up type exercises, etc?  I cant seem to find an answer to this question.
I always thought that (assuming quads/hams are already well developed) a visible sartorius muscle gives an illusion of being leaner and just looks a lot better than a flat inner thigh.
I've noticed that Chris Cormier's are very prominent.

It's because his body fat is so low and he's not holding water that the Satorius shows so well.

Here's what it is alexxx.
Bast, take a look at pictures of other who also have very low bf/not holding water, and you'll notice that Chris' just seem to stand out more.  Wether that be from more developement, genetics, etc., i dont know.  However, i figure if i could train mine and make them thicker, they would stand out more.
Dexter and Darrem seem to be in very good condition, yet Chris's just stand out more.

Awww my bad ;D I was also wondering about that and came to one conclusion. Sissy squats.

Also you could try Chris' routine which is: leg press-hack squats-bonegripper 5 supergiant sets of 15-20 reps
just push some weight!

Being a "bottom" will work the sartorius quite effectively.  So, you're on the right path "J-Rod."

Dorian Yates wrote in an article a while back that to get his Satorius to stand out he would have his back to the wall with his knees bent like he was siting on a imaginary chair.

This frpm someone who claims to know everything about everything about bodybuilding. Sarratus is part of the abdominal structure and sartorius is part of the leg. Prominant on Mike Mentzer.

the sartorius, aka "tailor's muscle" is the longest in the human body.   its called the tailor's muscle cause the tailors would sit in the cross legged position.

try this:  either get ankle weights or somehow affix plates to your ankle/foot and keeping your thigh straight and pointing directly forward, rotate your foot so it swings past and in front of your other knee.  this is the primary action of the sartorius.   im not sure how much hypertrophy you'll get from this, but its probably the most direct way to hit that muscle.

its comin today

Yes that's true but you have to attempt to hold the knees together while in that position. It sounds easy but after about 30 seconds you can feel the pull. It's a muscle that takes control to work properly.
and keep moving!

Jaejonna....just for the record that machine in the pic is an ADDUCTOR
If it was an ABductor the pads would be on the outside of his thigh
