...or did he just have a skin disease. Is it proven that his look meant that he had better conditioning?

It's possible that it was well-hidden elephantitis.

both levrone and wheeler had superior physiques that could get awya with eating mcdonalds

it didn't matter how hard they trained, the judges preferred ugly blocky physiques so they never stood a chance :-\

He achieved granite-like appearance by eating granite.

He had it crushed to powder at an industrial grinder. Then mixed it in with his usual protein powder. "Couldn't make the bloody mess taste any worse" I believe he said.

It's elephantiasis

It's not an "itis"

Why the hell does everyone say it that way?
Suposably, valumptuous, acks, etc.

hate on >:( probably wasnt the juice as everyone pretty much is doing the same aas, and there were very few bb'rs that chieved the superhard look(munzer, yates, etc). genetics? i dont know how that comes into play.   pre-contest program(training, cardio/fat burn, diet and drugs) thats got to be the ticket.

The condition can be referred to both ways.....but more specifically neurofibromatosis

It's gotta be genetics - no? You've got pros who come in great condition, yet don't have that "granite" look.

Utter pap given that either spelling's fine. Only important to someone really into this. ::)

Mainly genetics, combined with training, nutrition, etc.

Along with the extreme conditioning and supps, I think its genetic.  Lots of top teir pros train and prepare similarly but don't acheive that look.  The graininess probably gave him the nod in some victories.  Looked very impressive.

That hasn't worked for me. Maybe it's because I can't afford the good quality granite.
