I agree with NYcbull....I've lived for a short time in a place considered the deep south and can say that nyer are friendlier and the real deal.  As a matter of fact on the msn homepage last week there was a things they did where they ranked NY as the FRIENDLEST people....you can look it  up.  In the south people were so fast to mock your accent, when asked and you told them your from NY they would say thats too bad...I met some very rude, ignorant people that probably never step out of their little town in their life.  On the other hand some people were friendly so I won't group everyone together.  One of the things I couldn't believe when I went into a restaurant popular in the south called the Cracker barrel, they had a SIGN that read, "we will serve everyone regardless of race, regardless of color" or something close to that..hahahha southerners, I couldn't believe it...just the fact that they had to put a sign up saying that was a shock.....you wouldn't see that in Peter Lugas.  Can you imagine a black family walking in to eat in 2006..."oh look honey they'll serve us here", haha, that's ridiculous ya gotta admit....the south has to take some lessons from New Yorkers.

I remember living in Hawaii. I was going to Radford High School as a freshmen. I remember one time I wasnt feeling good and went into the bathroom to throwup. Then this black kid locks the door of this bathroom along with other black kids and start mocking me because "I dont talk like them or act like them" and because I had alot of friends that were asians and whites. But it was just so weird how "they" can accept someone who is a "wigger" talking slang or trying to walk, talk black. In Hawaii blacks are more accepting to even asian wiggers who act like they are black but act like that because of the music or whatever trend.

But it is weird that they arent accepting to the blacks who talk proper english or who are nice to everyone.

Yea thats true, not only do they emulate black urban cultures but also gay urban culture unbeknownst to them. Its funny when you see them wearing all cultures together hip hop clothes with bleached tips, earings tribal tats and using terms like "diva" and "drama queen". I think in the suburbs wearing any symbols from edge cultures makes them appear edgy and for some stupid reason thats what they want.. I am not sure they even know where it comes from. Funny though because most of them will borrow the creativity from these cultures while still fearing and hating them from a distance.

Blacks and Whites in the South get along better than they do anywhere else in the country. 

Yes, racism still exists in the U.S., but it's primarily centered in places like D.C., New York/New Jersey, Indiana, and Idaho/Wyoming.

A lot of it probably depends on whether you are in a major city or a small town.  Places like Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte, Orlando have more transplants from the North, West, and internationally than they do "Southerners".
