Gym Music
« on: August 07, 2006, 03:25:12 PM »

Yes i know this has been covered a lot of times, but then again there's always new music out there. I just took a week off from the gym to let my body fully recover from the heavy poundage (good form of course fellas). And i usually take off every 2 months - 2 1/2 months. Anyway any good SONGS (not just name the band) out there for now? It could be any type of music bros

That isn't unheard of for a natural trainer.

I take a break from the supplements too, just to let my body get rid of any bad toxins caused by whatever supps. i put in my body. Anyway, the reason why is because the 1 week complete resting makes my body to start off fresh. Especially when you live in NY you're constantly doing something even on your off days. And its hard to get enough sleep. So i've been taking off 1 week every 2 - 2 1/2 months and it has really helped my body to pound away better with the COMPLETE REST that i get, my mind RE-focuses better, and on top of it i get a better motivation for not being "carbed up" for 1 week when i get back into it.

that's the problem right there, you say you're only 193 lbs. at 5'10", that's why, you're taking too much time off, i could understand some time off after a year of heavy training but no more often than that.

Well i really bulk up with whole food/good nutrition, that's what i think is really helping my clean bulk to get big. I'm @ 194-195lbs now and i've maintained that through the 1 week off. But now when i'm getting back into my lifting again i feel more complete and i'll top 200lbs within 3-4 weeks (2-3lbs/week gain). And another reason why i take off 1 week off every 2 - 2 1/2 months is because of my high volume sets i do + heavy. Now like i said bro i revolve everything around my training progress/ soreness/ strains/ muscles pulls, etc. When i throw in the 1 week off for a complete rest so that my body can recover from the shyt i put it through. I usually spend 1- 1 1/2hrs @ the gym and since like i said i cant get enough sleep throughout the week bro or maybe get 1-2 days of good rest that extra 1 week off really helps my body with everything else.

Sarcasm are you natural bro? Just curious

That's cool well i'm pretty sure you'll find out that "rest" is the key to growth if you're a natural. On the other hand enhanced chemicals helps body recovery a lot faster and better than a natural athelete. I just think personally for my body and the way my workouts revolves, rest is very important for me and that is take off 2x week + every 2-2 1/2 months 1 week off. Then my cycle starts aga 60-90 min's @ the gym, getting 5-6hrs sleep a day/a lot of muscle soreness, muscle pain, constant tension on certain muscles being too much (because most muscles work around other exercises as well), sometimes pull a muscle a little bit, etc. I dunno but you get the idea of how i try to put things into perspective bro?

If you're hitting each muscle only once a week a break isn't needed as much. Something like a week off every 3-4 months to let the central nervous system recover makes sense when hitting a muscle 2-3 times a week.

On the other hand if you're going through the motions never pushing the envelope by all means keep training indefinitely.
