Another Day in the Gym
« on: August 11, 2006, 08:06:31 AM »
I had on the ground 315 lbs....
Some dude saw me put the wieght on the bar, he went up to me and said that he cant deadlift that much and wanted to see my technique. I told him that it aint going to happen, he looked at me and asked why ? I proceeded to jack the wieght up and pound out 12 reps of bent over rows. He said WOW.... I replied, "Its good to get a couple of warmup sets out the way before you go heavy"

How can I tell these tiny twats to go to daycare where thier parents can find them?

Haha, nice one. I bet that's a common joke amongst gym heavyweights. As for the guy, just wear earphones. If you don't want to drown out the gym music or whatever, just don't turn on the discman/Ipod.
Im not a heavy wieght...195-200 lbs range...just that damn strong though...

Do we really need a new fictional gym story every day? One of these "Brutal Gym Owning" stories a month is more than enough.  ::)

I think it's hilarious when guys like sarcasm and jaejonna brag about their bent-over rows. Unless you're a 600+ deadlifter, there is no way in hell you're rowing that kind of weight with good form. End of story.

Or people like you who brag about 225 clean and jerks like it's special THEN swear on the bible that you upright row 225+. You're just as bad as jaejonna.

I'll bet your rows look real strict too. With your upper body only swinging from around 45° to 10°. Good job man!

I don't think upright rowing 235 is that much.  315 is though.  I think 315 is that line with rows where it becomes a lot.

Is it that hard to understand that everybody have to start somewhere? I bet even you didn't born with all those muscles, did you? Anyway, here is a true story to you: It was year 88, I was just learning how to squat properly, and I have 220lb in a squat rack, when this dude comes to me and ask "can I borrow that barbell just for moment?" Well, I think that he would be squatting too, so I told him that he can, and he went to the rack. He take the barbell on his shoulders, and start to make presses behind the neck...he did twelve reps for starters...It was quite hard to go back squatting with that weight, which was my 8 rep max back then. Earlier in that year I was owned by one chick, when I was doing bench presses with my friend. We have something like 160lb on the barbell, when this chick comes and ask if she can try it too. We were smiling because we think that was too much to her, but when she go standing behind the bench and start to make bicep curls with that weight, we didn't smile anymore...we didn't know her, but the owner of the gym tell us that she was our national champion for many years, and later she win the amateur world championship in heavy weight class in year -95. So I have been owned twice, and this is true.  ;D :o ;D
