I remember his talk show in the 70's. He used to try to sing too. Just like Merv Griffin.

He had some famous musicians on his shows...Stones,Zappa,Hermits,vanilla fudge,beach boys,streisand

I was watching the news this morning and they were showing the week John Lennon and Yoko co hosted with Mike.  Jerry Rubin was on the talking about revolution, burning buildings in protest all that 60's stuff.  Mike was getting heated and John Lennon, ever the peace maker, brought calmness to the tense scene.  Imagine John Lennon playing second fiddle to someone?  He used to feature all the hip bands of the day as mentioned above.  I just think it's cool, in it's own way, dying on the same day you were born.
