protein absorbtion rate

so how much can you absorb at one time?  is there any reason i have two scoops of protein in fat free milk (about 65g) if i cant use it all to assimilate muscle?  should i do like one scoop an hour instead?  damn, thats alot of shakes...

Controversial.  Many opinions, very little research.  The old time bodybuilders used the analogy of a funnel.  You pour too much, to quickly and only so much will go into the tank.  The rest will spill out.  My rule of thumb in 30g per hour.  If I'm wrong, no damage done because I consume the same total amount of protein over the day, just with more feedings.  But think if the 60g at a time guys are wrong and half of that is excreted.  Someone who consumes 300g per day, might only get the benefit of 150g.  Given the above risk and the dearth of a definitive answer go for smaller amounts and more requent feedings.  At minimum, your metabolism will be accelerated.
