Eddie Robinson!
« on: August 14, 2006, 04:52:07 PM »
I was in the attic the other day and I found some old magazines, Muscle Media 2000 from 1994! There was an article/interview with Eddie Robinson, and it reminds me of Lee Priest and the current situation, back then he was blacklisted by Weider for signing with WBF.

"He'd like to compete again someday, the ball is currently in the hands of the IFBB since they're still punishing him for his act of "treason" in joining the WBF"

And just like Lee he was very outspoken about steroids etc:

"I'm not going to say that I didn't take steroids. You have to use them to compete in the IFBB. There's no doubt about it. You're not going to go anywhere if you don't use them."

They should up the dosages in the pro ranks, I want to see the freaks again, like in the mid to late 90's.

Here's some more quotes from that article:

MM - What's the strangest thing you've done, or do, to get in shape for a contest?

Eddie:

Well, what most people think is strange is that I go through probably four or five packets of chewing tobacco a day.

(he used it to get rid of water, spitting his ass off!)

Nice chest workout:

"Presses with 150-pound dumbbells, do six to eight reps, drop down to the hundreds and get twelve reps, and drop down to the 45's and do 40 reps, nonstop. Then I'll turn around and go back and do it again [after a rest], nonstop, but of course, using less weight each time."
