Christopher Reeve

Did Christopher Reeve work out for his Superman role? He was lean and his physique looked like it could hold a fair bit of muscle.

He may or may not have worked out, but what you saw of him in costume was all padding.

His belly was thin though and he was well over 6 feet tall.

David Prowse built him up from 180 to about 200. It was in a lot of muscle mags back in the day.

No it wasn't. Its well documented how he was trained by David Prowse.

Stay away from horse riding. Not even Superman can get away with it.

Here's part of an interview with Prowse discussing his role in 'A Clockwork Orange'. A classic answer.

Q: Did you and Kubrick have any disagreements ?

David Prowse: In my major scene in the movie I had to carry Patrick McGee in his wheelchair down three flights of stairs and then do a dialogue scene as if nothing had happened. I couldn't believe it. The combined weight must have been over 200lbs. Kubrick said "Come on, you can do it, you're a strongman". I said "Yes, but your name's not exactly 'One-Take Kubrick' is it?".

I care though and I keep reading it over and over again. I'm a boring old wrinkled fart with liver spots and death breath though.

Correction. No film-ignorant jerkasses like yourself care.

And it's famous that Reeve worked out for his role, coming in around 200 at 6'4". Lean bastard with a big chest. Bigger than BroadAnusBruiser anyway, lol.

I remember wondering who the somewhat inappropriately placed big guy was when I first saw it.  All part of surreal atmosphere of that movie really.

I actually did. My uncle caught me watching it at 7 years old. I think it was the rape scene.

Take a look at superman I and superman III, and take a look at Reeve's fucking back at superman III. He obviously did a great job at gaining muscle mass, and congrats to David Prowse. And to the sucker who said that nobady cares, get your ignorant ass outta here and take a hike! ;)
