Hey that's my old elementry school!

Heck of a nice guy.  Met him tonight.  I asked him to pose something BESIDES the thumbs-up pose and he gave me the strangest look.  He was quite confused.

I suggested a "thumbs down".  He tried but his hand would not angle in that direction.

I suggested a black power fist.  His thumb instinctively went up.

We finally agreed that a No-Thumbs pose would do the trick!

More... he eats protein bars like candy.  Nonstop.  Every time you saw him, he was either eating them or taking 5 minute bathroom breaks.  Very short too.  I am 5 10 or 5 11, and he was easily 2-3 inches shorter when standing side by side.  Hung out in the crowd all night, took a lot of pics of fans for his website.

The announced him at 260 pounds.

Last year they have Vic Martinezm right when he was at the top of his "Next Mr O" hype.  year before it was Darrem, who posed outside on a picnic table because Hurricane Charley had tore the roof off the auditorium and killed power.

I went anyway, to hustle up some new website business.  Met some people, hung out.  Very big guy named Deke was the head NPC judge.  Lots of hot girls there.  Even more guys with ILS there. 

Show was weak.  half as many competitors as last year. 
One female BBer. 
Nine fitness/figure combined category. 
8 masters competitors, who all competed in the Open.  There were only 4 or 5 guys who competed in mens who weren't masters.  Very small show.

I was wearing a 300website shirt, but we never traded names. 

No one shouted anything about Palumboism... we were all so let down by the quality of athlete up there that were we just happy to see anything resembling a real BBer.

The female guest poser's music wouldn't play. 

7 or 8 of the competitors had to pose to the "house song", Bad to the Bone, because they cd player kept skipping.  monster amateur hour.

lat year kicked ass.   Vic M was there.  Shannon Dey.  Amanda Dunbar.  Quite a few others.  And tons of quality competitors.  Tonight was a big letdown.  If I wasn't trying to sell websites, I probably wouldn't go again.  I was totally handing out glossy flyers to anyone with orange skin

He's done competing, in my opinion. 

He has to be - his waist was very bad.  I was pretty far back and the lighting left a lot to be desired, so I wasn't able to snap any good ones of him posing.  He had some good chest and arm muscularity, but his belly was just swollen - very O-shaped.  And you can see from the pics that his arms and legs have worsened since he went away.  Smaller.

He didn't pose for too long - maybe two 1-minute routines, maybe less.  About half of crowd had left by the time he went.  He's doing his job, being a good guest at a small show.  But it was hardly the fanfare we saw with Vic M... that guy was like a rock star last year.

The emcee said "Dave Palumbo will be a pro very soon!"  but i had to disagree.

Well, everyone says that Jumbo uses the "thumbs up" pose in every pose.  So, I tried to catch him off guard.  Hee seemed a bit confused.  By he made the effort, and I think we found a good compromise.  I have nothing but good to say about him, very nice to everyone, very polite when navigating through big crowds.  Nothing negative to say about him!
